Re: The Watches Thread

I suppose it depends where you are going. I'd feel fine wearing anything going to the local or just generally knocking around at the weekend. I'd be more choosy when visiting a city with heaving pubs.

Re: Being burgled

Never burgled thankfully but had a few cars broken into over the years. We've got an alarm fitted that I like to think would make any burglars try an easier target.

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

I had my first tubeless failure today due to a cut in the tyre that the tubeless fluid had no chance of sealing. I carry a spare tube just in case but it was a messy job with the fluid and mud plus a side helping of dog shit. It took me a good ten minutes to remove the old thorns in the tyre that th...

Love the GT6 8-)

I can't remember the last time I saw one, even the classic car shows tend to just have Spitfires.

Re: The Watches Thread

Hamilton watches are sometimes available online at TK Maxx so worth keeping an eye on the website, obviously this latest 38mm won't be there :) https://www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/men/accessories/watches+jewellery/mens-watches/multicoloured-khaki-field-watch/p/76748018 https://www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/men/acce...

Re: Flightradar24 fans

I’ve been in the Gloucester Vulcan cockpit. Also relevant to this thread, I’ve checked ADSB Exchange a few times during the week when I’ve heard aircraft over the office. It seems to be on a military flight path and you get F15s heading for the Mach Loop, C17s/A440s flying low en route back to Briz...

Re: Flightradar24 fans

I wasn’t sure where to post this but here seems good enough. Today I climbed into a Vulcan cockpit, extremely claustrophobic and very cosy for the five crew members of which only two had ejection seats. The rest had to open the door in the floor and make their own way out. This particular Vulcan is ...

We called someone Sonic at school, to the point where teachers also called him that as it seemed entirely innocent. If only they knew that it came about as he was found pleasuring himself with a Sonicare toothbrush.
Er, how? Asking for a friend.

Re: The Watches Thread

Very difficult to get hold of and I'm not sure why, unless Tudor are holding them back for some reason. The salesman said this was only the second one on leather they'd had in the last twelve months. The chrono range all seem hard to find but especially the white version.

Re: The Watches Thread

Collected this Tudor Black Bay Chrono last night after ordering it when it was launched in April '21. I was beginning to think I'd never get it so called in at the Meadowhall Tudor boutique for a chat, not sure if this made a difference but a month or so later they contacted me to say one had just a...

I had the broken spring replaced on the Panda on Monday so now both fronts are new. Only an hours labour for the garage but I can guarantee it would have taken me at least double without access to a ramp.

Re: The Watches Thread

The final one may prove to be a little large for me (at 40mm) - I'll find out tomorrow! But it's one of the new Q watches from Timex - spotted a good offer/price on it, and though "WTF?!" :) It's a classic-looking sports chronograph, with (by all accounts) a really good quality leather st...
