Like the sound, not keen on the looks. The Sagaris is beautiful in an aggressive way (like the Cerbera, Chimp and Griff before it), the new Griff doesn't have the beauty of the old cars.

You know you want another Saab (personally if you get a 9-3 V6 Aero I wouldn't blame you) now. I guess you will be swerving Derv in the future too?

Re: 2nd best sub £1k car
I’ve been noticing some trends on my search for a not so shit shitbox. The vast majority of people selling them have the IQ of a vegetable. They struggle to take a non blurry photo, or more than 2 photos, they really struggle with writing a description. The number of trade dealers writing ‘millage’...

Re: 2nd best sub £1k car
Mr Flewy was indeed correct with his FB assertion that crappy old diesels would be failing on emissions. The wife's S40 indeed wont pass so I have a few days to source a replacement before she heads to Oxford, otherwise she will take my car. Her needs are changing from the new school term as as she...

Watched the first couple of episodes of cobra Kai the other day. Well worth looking up on YouTube red for anyone that enjoyed karate kid as a youth. 35 years on Daniel and Johnny resume their sparring with the premise flipped on its head. I won’t go any further, apart from to say Ralph Machhio and W...

Off down to Cheddar tonight to race and assist (I'm part of the BLMRA race committee now) in the inaugural RedBull 'Cut it' event tomorrow. It's only a 1 day event and I'm off back home for Sunday for my mums 70th birthday. Trying to fit in washing the car too. https://www.redbull.com/gb-en/red-bull...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Found out the knocking from the scooby was the front strut, it has developed the famous scooby strut knock, which can be maintained with a bi of white grease every few months or replacement struts which will last a fe years and start to do the same thing. The only permanent cure is a suspension upgr...

Stretch the budget and the V60 is a good shout, not the T4 posted but the Polestar. These are bloody quick and rare too.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Driveshaft replaced on the Scoob, still got clunks. It's probably rear shock knock translating through the car TADTS but you can homebrew a fix so I will have a go at this as soon as I get chance. Had my excess paid yesterday so the third parties insurers have accepted responsibility 100% and I now ...

Get a sniff test done on the coolant. Headgaskets are known to fail on the 1.9PD and they can use water under load.

Re: FAO MTB'ers
Retrobike is hopeless for selling now. The bottom has well and truly fallen out of the market sadly. There are still a few that hold an interest and buy/sell, but they are more into high end rarer exotica than usable retro quality (Orange sit here). I have a few bits of this sort of thing and probab...

Consensus from my team mates who both own garages is it nothing to bother about really. The dpf thing will bother a few, but with specialists in dpf repair as opposed to being seen off at a stealers for a new one it will men more business for them. The rest isn’t much of a change the tester could al...

My ball joint problem turned out to be a CV making noise so we ordered that and the wrong one turned up damaged! Anyway this was after my tame mechanic had taken the old one off discovered it had been off previously and the c clip left out plus the inner joint was worn too. Joy. On the plus side I g...

Re: The neighbours
Our corner plot backs onto school playing fields which our garden gate has access to and has had since the houses were built in the late 70's. In my youth the playing fields were a well used valuable resource with kids often playing football on them. Back in the late 90's the schools after a spate o...

A friend had something similar, but it was a 'Rimor', which we took great delight in taking the piss out of.

Re: The neighbours
More lucky with my neighbours now than in my previous place, one side he races bangers so is always tinkering away building another micra in his garage and I can't complain too much as I have my racing builds and repairs to take care of (it's not as we're both a couple of Onslows though) so we quite...

Re: BMW Recall
How did the fact that there was a car stopped on the road cause that poor chap to die in his Fiesta? The consequences are only the same as an alternator fault which drains the battery. Car stops with no lights on, as if it were parked. Yes, recall affected cars but I don't think Merc are recalling ...
