Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator

I have a 9900KS and traditionally the CPU has been hit pretty hard on Prepar3d, but under MSFS that CPU is working much lower. I also have a 1080 which is maxed out under ultra gfx settings in the sim, but am planning on getting a 3080 when it launches next month. That will lift frames considerably....

Re: Coronavirus

1/7/2021. Is that date in Sterling or Dollars? Another year out the office seems a bit of an overreaction  That's in old English. Considering that I only went in 1 or 2 days a week before it's not a big change. The fact is that we're not gonna get out of this mess until a vaccine has been wide...

Re: Coronavirus

Well we've had our WFH guidance changed so that we won't need to see an office again till 1/7/2021. Not really a surprise considering the trajectory we're on, and that other big tech like Google have done the same.

I'll probably have to buy a new chair for the home office.

You're welcome! It was for the XPC code, I thought that might be relevant, the software is a clone of my Windows 10 laptop, the hard drive with that version of Windows 7 on failed a long time ago.
I was joking :P

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator

Seeing as we're so close to release I may as well admit that I've been on the Alpha program (now beta) for a number of months for this. It's bloody great. There's still some work to be done on some of the larger cities, but the nature of that beast is that the worldscape will always be a work in pro...

To be clear, he voted against fuller scrutiny of the WA, then voted for the WA, and is now complaining that he doesn't like the WA.

Re: Coronavirus

I get that. But by the same token a C19 death is not a death anyone would want - that is very literally away from your family and friends in a hospital somewhere with no visitors. Why risk that? Or why not just follow the rules and see one group one day and another group another day? We're a good so...

So it's the wife's birthday tomorrow and so we talk to the family about all meeting up for a meal somewhere. <checks regulations> Not more than 6 people and only 2 households. That scuppers meeting up with my folks, and my brother's brood then. <looks out window> Ah yes, those silly aged fuckers nex...

I see the latest nonsense suggestion is to ban travel in and out of London in case of a big spike, but with the border at the M25, which completely ignores the fact that the greater london border is NOT the M25! Like my parents house, for example, the borough in which was nearly the bottom of the ta...

Re: The Cats are good too thread

For those who are still going to the vets, are the vets allowing you in with your pets or are you having to drop them off in the car park? Ours are the later and it made my cats normal stressful yearly checkup just impossible when she was unaccompanied.

Not really surprising is it? And looking at the claimed figures from some of the other crackpot countries on the Johns Hopkins tracker suggests Iran are not alone.

Re: 1st 6months with the McLaren 720S Spider & an "Issue"

To have lost gas volume after 6 months suggests that it is losing refrigerant somehow. Although you say it was pressure and leak tested, was that done with the engine actually running (which can expose failing pump seals) which a static test will often pass without issue.
