THAT phone call
I'm ranting in a safe space... About 11hrs ago I got the frantic sequence of texts and attempted calls telling me to call home. The last time it happened I was sat on the top deck of a London tour bus as NZ reached out to tell me my closest friend had taken her life. This time, it was the UK to tell...

Re: Mice - One for Mito?
I use an ultrasonic device in the garage and that has kept it mouse free. Curious about this Dave? We have recurring rat problems being next to water and the little shits seem to love getting into a channel around beams which support the upper part of the house, which in turn means we hear them run...

Re: New Pickup Time
NZ is crawling with utes. Ranger is the preferred option over a Hilux if you're going through them reasonably quickly (lease, silly mileage in three years etc.) If you're wanting to buy something and run it long term, people still buy Hilux because of their better reliability, and here at least, rea...

Re: Lego
Tell me more :D Reminds me of a customer I had in a previous job. Family was Middle Eastern royalty and they (obviously not the family, but their staff) ran a museum grade collection management system just to keep track of the mother's purchases to make sure they knew what favourite item (clothes, ...

Re: Lego
If you're a member on Lego Insiders, this weekend is double points and gwp sets/discounts, so might be worth checking in then. Yes I'd spotted that and would have had Concorde on it, but they're taking back orders for it, delivery from Dec 18th here. I wonder if they'll do the double points on a ba...

Re: Lego
I crumbled and took advantage of a 20% off if you buy two kits deal here the other day. Speed Champions F&F Charger bought to facilitate the deal on the Classic Defender. Still waiting for the right deal on Concorde though, pretty difficult to even find them in Australasia currently, let alone g...

Re: When did Patrick get a 911R?!
Rod's a very busy fella, I've tried to stay in contact since Marv and I met him without being too intrusive. Still likes his toys, his latest adventure has been designing and building an electric boat built specifically for wake surfing. I believe he still has the R and the 918, but I'm not 100%. An...

Re: Your fleet running reports
GT86 sailed through its WOF/MOT this week. Now at 11yrs old I'm happy about that. It's done precisely 1997km in the last year which helps I guess... With the two newer cars in the household occupying the garage for a bit, it had been sat outside under a cover for about five months, which unfortunate...

Hahahahaha! He's also an owner of one of the eight Lexus ISF CCC-P like this one though his is white. And an NA MX5 with a 1.8 on throttle bodies, and two bikes. And he can drive too, was team principal of our endurance karting win earlier in the year. I'm very glad Ash is my friend, though he's a b...

Re: Manuel Supra - short drive
I was pretty underwhelmed with the auto one I drove, and the open access to the boot really put me off. Last thing I want when braking hard is the contents of the boot coming sliding through. I had also just been driving this mind - good friend of mine. A smidge under 800bhp at the time: https://you...

Re: The Sphere in Vegas (nd)
I would love to know how the video elements work - it's hardly like dropping an .mov file onto a hard drive is it? In that first clip there seemed to be lots of nested live feeds from cameras running on the band, so there must be at the very least multiple sections of video running concurrently and ...

So who's gonna win then?
I don't mind admitting facing South Africa after they came from behind like that is quite daunting. They must be so fucking hyped up and that's not a version of South Africa I fancy squaring up against.

What a match!!!
Another contender for 'this could have been a final' - two nights on the bounce.

Re: Rugby World Cup
I haven't been that nervous watching a game since the France vs NZ final some years back. I was still shaking with nerves 40mins after the whistle blew. Absolutely awesome game and a major tap of the hat to Ireland, that could have gone the other way so easily.
