Punching above their weight, playing at a standard barely believable given the size of the population, playing pool and funding should allow?

Re: 6 Nations

Great day of Rugby unless your Welsh or English.

Ireland were awesome in the first half and the game was over. Cardiff was rammed with Irish having a party which takes the edge off the loss 😂

As far as I'm aware Wales and Scotland have hardly any smoke control areas. The map i saw recently made it look like an urban english issue!

Re: E-Bike chumps

I've sorting out my father in-laws estate and been looking into how to sell or give away his ebike as it self propels so didnt want to mis-represent it. It looks like you can legally have a throttle if the bike is still limited to 15.5mph and has pedal assist function as well. It would need to be ty...

They also have the £15 ctek type chargers there with a 3yr warranty.

Seems silly cheap when cteks are now £50 for a basic one.

Re: 2022 review / 2023 plans

Work has been a bit shite, after the change in ownership in 2020 and a rough year I'm questioning whether I still want to be there. I'd mentioned this briefly in another thread earlier in the year and if anything it's gotten worse. I applied for a couple of things but I'm not really sure what I wan...

Re: MOT amendment consultation - have your say

If someone has kept a 40 year old car on the road then surely in all probability it's been looked after? It would not be economical to run one just to avoid MOTs. :D I'm talking basic checks, lights, brakes, steering and a visual on structure, tyres etc. Hoovies recent Charger purchase was a great ...

Re: MOT amendment consultation - have your say

I think the current system should continue. My wife made a point that there are so many bings, bongs and warning lights on her Sportage that she just ignores them including no fuel and tpms ! Unless the car grinds to a halt she wouldn't check anything and even then it would be my fault  My coll...

Re: Competitive austerity/poverty

The problem you’ll have with the older worcesters is that the case has to be removed to swap the module. The case is also your secondary seal- this means removal of the case should only be by gas safe registered tradesmen. If it’s a modern one around 2 years old it’ll be fine as you can swap it fro...

I'd put money on them not wanting to give him a profit on a vehicle they sold him a few months before, as simple as that. I've sold a couple of cars over the last year or so when the main dealer offered pittance and scoffed at my asking price based on Motorway/WBAC only for the cars to end up at a m...

Re: Competitive austerity/poverty

I'm bloody loving this modern insulated house - £4/day in gas (inc. gas hob cooking) to keep the whole thing at 21/22 degrees 24/7 throughout december. I was burning 4-500l of oil a month at this time of year in the old place, and it struggled to reach 20 degrees. According to my reporting I spent ...

Oh and none are set above 19C - what the hell is wrong with you all? FWIW my standard this year is 17-18º during the week, luckily my office gets a hint warmer than the rest of the flat so it works nicely. We're the same. Luckily the family rarely mention its cold to the point we still have shorts ...

Retail for my i3s seems static at early £30's but wbac valuation has dropped from £30k 3 months ago to £24k today.

Time of year is probably a bigger factor than Tesla price drops though.

Re: Your fleet running reports

That was a poor choice of words from me lol

It felt perfectly safe even in compacted snow. I remember coming home from Birmingham and it had snowed heavily, the M4 was closed so had to go over the A465 Abergavenny, Merthyr down to Swansea route. I was the only moving vehicle at one point.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Significant. That's good to know then. Because we've always had a "proper" 4x4 around I don't think I've ever done it. Am going to get a set for the Touring though. A good set of Nokian Winters on that BMW, on the road would do better than the 4WD tow car you used. Dave! My 996 was unstop...

Re: A decent cordless drill

The problem with a drill/driver is it's easy to get overzealous and strip cheap screws that come with curtain poles etc. Hit part of the metal internals of the door fitting a Eufy doorbell backplate and too far in to get moles on and too far out to get doorbell secured and ignore it ! My new favouri...

Re: EV Thread

As its a generator it may be more efficient if it's run at a fixed rpm. I'll be interested to find out more about it. If you can charge at home that 50 mile ev range would cover the bulk of journeys for most people but without the usual range or infrastructure objections. I'm surprised there aren't ...

The Mazda MX-30 looks interesting, plugin 17.8kw battery that will do 53 miles electric only plus a 830cc rotary range extender giving a Granite approved no pissing on my watch range of 373 miles. Official mpg of 273 8-) https://www.evo.co.uk/mazda/205567/mazda-rotary-engine-reborn-as-an-ev-range-ex...
