Re: Your fleet running reports
Harry, I have seen your steering wheel - I'm still trying to work out if I love it or hate it...😀 It’s mine and I feel the same 😄 It was a spare, the trim pieces come out ( have seen them colour coded from the factory on some individual trim cars ) and I had some cloth offcuts so thought I’d give i...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Hmm. I guess you’d still need to do the same thing, removing the sticky gunk, if you wanted paint to stick / not be all lumpy. You’d have to do something, but I’d think the solvents in the paint might mix with the residue and not affect it too much, would be easy enough to test a small area without...

Re: Your fleet running reports
They all do to some extent, this is the worst of the four I’ve owned, the mega mile four door the least saggy. For something that just has to be presentable rather than pretty, yep some satin black paint would do the job and never have to worry about it coming off again. A wire brush was the easiest...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Have been finishing my equaliser install. Trying to keep everything hidden isn’t easy. Control box is nicely tucked in the space a passenger airbag would go if it had one 😂 Also removed these horrible chrome sill covers which had started corroding and going lumpy. https://i.imgur.com/Bf6dNue.jpeg Sw...

Re: Your fleet running reports
A bit concerning really. Would be more understandable if it was doing 40k a year up and down the country, but there can’t be that many conventional cars needing £6k of engine work at 30k and under 4 years old. I know people will say but it’s cutting edge new technology etc, but come on, electric mot...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I saw an in the wild photo of one yesterday for the first time, if it wasn’t for the mini badge I never would have guessed it was a mini. Even then I thought it was a random Chinese thing with a badge stuck on.

Re: Question for Nurburgring experts
Always seemed like a silly Micky mouse bit added on to increase the lap length of the standalone circuit anyway. Hadn’t even noticed they didn’t use it when running the full setup.

Re: Parking space widths
Well, your 1er is based on e90 running gear which was the newer bigger 3 series after the e46 so not a massive surprise

Re: Parking space widths
If people aren’t using the spaces because their cars won’t fit then they won’t loose money anyway. I can remember for as long as I’ve been driving a couple of multi stories having odd little spaces in corners or end of rows you could only get a very small car in, as long as you didn’t have a passeng...

Re: State of the Roads
Yes, I always thought you couldn’t claim unless the pothole was known about, they can’t reasonably be expected to inspect every single road on a daily basis. But once reported should be repaired in a reasonable time. Www.fixmystreet.com Put a point on the map and report the problem. They automatical...

Re: State of the Roads
Weirdly on my commute they repaired a foot square section of road where the top inch or so of surface had broken away, and the damaged drain surround I reported, but not the massive pothole 1/4 mile away I reported at the same time which is about 8 inches deep and spewing out rocks, which someone ha...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Propshaft donut turned up so today I stuck the propshaft back on, the cleaned up brackets, the repaired heat shields, attached the exhaust with nuts and bolts. I had to make a new bracket which holds the exhaust downpipe to the gearbox as the old one just fell to bits. Put the car on the ground and ...

Re: Bright light, bright light!
I was going to mention that, I’m pretty sure it was a common mod on r33 skylines.
I’ve no idea how it would have worked on something like the P1, assume it was changed / updated somehow.

Re: Bright light, bright light!
There used to be some silly things, like lotus not being able to illuminate both rear lights each side as the box draw around the lamps included the bodywork inbetween which made them not bright enough for the total area. By illuminating just one the box was drawn around that single lamp which made ...

Re: Bright light, bright light!
Ie, I followed a qashqai earlier. These are the rear lights,
How much of it was the brake lights?
This bit marked in green got brighter. Why so stingy with brake lights??

Re: Bright light, bright light!
I’m not sure matrix leds on all cars is the solution, I find the multiple light points of complex led headlights far more distracting and create more glare and secondary reflections then the single bright point of a halogen or hid projector. Legislation just doesn’t seem to have kept up with technol...
