I can get a bonnet, roof, rear tailgate painted and 4 wheels refurbed for £500 to a really good standard.

JonMad wrote: Wed Jul 08, 2020 7:41 pm It looks stunning. Can I ask how much something like that costs to get done? I’ve only ever paid a tenner at a car hand wash place, or had half a go myself.
Interior and exterior was £150. I’ll put some photos up of the stereo screen for example to show the difference there.

Re: Your fleet running reports

One of the cheapest things you can do to your car for the return imo Alex, it always feels more like your car afterwards rather than the previous owners. Like you’ve peeled away a layer of their filth.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Agreed, a proper detail is always worth the money imo.

Once the wheels are refurbed and spacers on it’ll be a good place to be for a few months.

Wheels need a proper refurb so told him to leave them but you can see the benefits of a proper detail, especially if you’re looking to add value to a car IMO.

Re: Your fleet running reports

After chasing down issues on the lotus it was only a day on a dyno that finally got to the bottom of the numerous issues.. Not sure if that's an option Nic, many things don't become apparent til its under load. It used to boost to .8 under hard load and then bleed away pressure which was obviously ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

When I bought the cayenne it had a knackered headlight and common logic was that you had to order ballasts in pairs and code them in. I didn’t. I originally ordered an aftermarket ballast from Germany via eBay but when the seller said it wouldn’t work and I had to have an original Hella at double th...

That just looks like it's broken :?

Definitely needs bigger wheels. Touareg looked a lot better.
Touareg was on smaller wheels.

https://i.imgur.com/wUnfZlU.jpg Mechanic text me this picture earlier, it’s one of the vac pipes leading to the recirc valve, mostly explains my boost issue I hope. It’s also been lowered now. Re: Boring insurance question

I only deal with the NFU (who are 5 star rated) now, local contact for everything, no admin charges for plate changes etc and their competitive on price, changing the Touareg to the Cayenne was an extra £36.

Yes it did... and she was prosecuted for leaving the scene of an accident.
Some justice 8-)

I'd still like to have the space to tinker with an A2 and the running gear from one (I know, lofty dreams  ).

Nothing major thankfully, I drove it home fine.
