Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

I’m determined that next year I’m gonna put some decent effort into doing a half decent amount of greenlaning… once you’ve memorised these boats, you can be my guide Tim 😂

Though I’ll skip the part of the guided tour which is for dogging observation, thanks 😅

Re: Wales 20mph limit

I’ve been in France for just over a week and it appears that since I did a decent trip here last (pre 2019), they’ve slapped 30kph speed limits in what seems to be the majority of towns and villages…that’s about 18.6mph to save you reaching for your calculator. It’s ridiculously slow and barely anyo...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Stuff about nice new bike Is that Reiten Motorrad on Glemsford? Not that far from where I live now! They seem like a friendly bunch TBF. 235kg isn’t as heavy as I thought they are! I like the fact that despite all your rospa training you still wobbled down the road on the first ride 😂 (that’s not a...

Re: Harry’s Garage

No desire to change to the new one from me. 200 extra kgs, no faster and I just can't get used to the looks - the M240i is far more handsome. Plus, 275 front tyres!? It's just all sized up to cope with the extra lard it's carrying. I'm a bit perplexed by the 275 front tyres. My best guess is becaus...

Re: The Holiday French.

in 23 years of driving through France multiple times a year I've literally never come across this stereotypical view of the French. Not once. From about 2009 to 2019 I regularly took trips around France in my car and like you, I never found the stereotype of rudeness to be true of the French - they...

Re: Do you say thank you? Specific situation

That would get a thanks from me. I don't thank people for stopping when there are parked cars are on their side of the road though, that's just following the rules... hopefully I'm not doing it wrong? I might do if they waited a particularly long time I suppose. Some people do thank for that though...

Re: Interview prep

Amazing timing, in my industry I'm used to interviews which last about 15mins and consist of a few questions to make sure your CV is relatively accurate. However, I've just had an interview that was an initial screening interview, then once passed that, a second interview with a 20min presentation ...

Hopefully the youngling will take good care of it and learn the principles of oversteer in a car, from an early age

Must admit, you had me tempted too, though I don't need a replacement for the Golf right now, so it would have sat around mostly getting in the way!

Re: No F1 thread?

That race had all the classic hallmarks of a crap boring race. All DRS overtakes, no safety cars, Max blasting past unchallenged, a hint of rain which evaporated into nothing. Actually, there was a decent number of non-DRS overtakes in the infield, further down the order. It was only towards the fr...

Totally agree with everything you’ve said Matty. For my next purchase, I’d love an R8, Lotus Elise S2 with K20 (inspired partially by Duncs and his S1) or an Evora. Ricky’s buying guide videos highlighted potential pitfalls and ones to avoid, particularly in respect of the early ones. Harry’s enthu...

Started watching the race just as Magnussens engine broke and the safety car came out. Some very enjoyable racing! Nice to see Norris, Piastri and Albon doing really well.
