Re: Arise Sir Geoffrey

There really is a lot to be said from just ignoring external influences to the greatest extent possible, isn't there.

Re: Arise Sir Geoffrey

Fair enough. I always held the Times and Telegraph up as the only two respectable papers, massively right-wing though they both are, but then so am I really.

Kid as in kid or kid as in teenager? The former are able to learn from their mistakes.

Re: Arise Sir Geoffrey

Dave, I can see your mind is made up on this but with regards to The Telegraph - they're unlikely to pursue this just because they really, really like domestic violence, aren't they? Or has the publication gone the way of the tabloids?

Re: The Movie Thread

Anna Luc Besson phones in a Nikita remake, basically. Cillian Murphy and Helen Mirren are massively over-capable for the roles they had to play, Russians behave like Russians, the super-hot lead is super-hot and despite weighing 50 kg max is capable of incapacitating scores of hardened Russian henc...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Yep cruise is awesome, keyless go I wasn't convinced by, mainly because I spent longer each day making sure the key was in my pocket than I would have done bunging it in the ignition :D

Re: Parking / legal question

Annoying. I would just put a "Don't park like a cunt" message under their wipers. There are two guys that live opposite us that I believe are both in the building trade and/or plumbers and at they have an old 944 (which they put under a cover and doesn't turn a wheel for months) plus two ...

Re: Parking / legal question

Leaving aside the fact that it's annoying, how would this be enforced legally? Someone with legal jurisdiction would have to actually stake out the area while they did it, and then arrest them for........parking in a parking area?

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

I didn't bother letting it rev out because it's pointless but people tell me there's a bit more spark up that end of the revs too. I've probably mentioned this before but of the three 1200 boxer BMWs I've ridden, two of them (an R1200R in Japan and fairly new GS in Norway) did not benefit one iota ...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Awesome stuff, I've always enjoyed the extent to which the RT works for you, brilliant 8-)

ShiftCam on the RR seems to bring the kick that mine has at 9k down to about 5k. That's insane!! Total game-changer.

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

I'll just wait for the chap on the internet to tell me / us, or not

(or he has bought the RT1250 the dealer lent him while his 1200 was being serviced, at a guess).

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Ah is there a new purchase to divulge? I'm trying to think what the previous fleet was - S1000R, RT1200, 748? Can't see any of these being chopped in.

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

So September is service time for all three bikes as the summer relents and it's time to start using them again. I think I might be enjoying this less, the more of it I do  Super Tenere - I'm very much "on the spectrum" when it comes to following service schedules, and the book says re...
