Re: Model 3
The most hassle free way would be to insure with Direct Line as they’re the official Tesla insurer and know that the car keeps getting updates. That said their prices are quite a lot higher than competitors despite them giving Tesla owners a “discount” so who will bother... They quoted me £580, LV ...

Re: Being offended
What about those cunts that, when you have a Chinese or Indian, want to share the dishes out? Fuck off, Karen, I ordered what I like, no I don’t want some of your fucking Chicken Masala in exchange for the Jalfrezi I ordered for myself! Amen. I order what I want. I don't want to share it with some ...

One foot driving works really well in London, a great update.
It defiantly feels quicker / more squirty, downside is my power consumption is up 30KW/m from using it.

Re: Model 3
Many of the manufacturers are being less than truthful, see the BMWs which have 100bhp more than what is being quoted. I always assumed that they reported the min power running on the worst fuel likely at high altitude, there was a big class action against Honda I think a few years back for over re...

One of the guys on PH works with the insurance regulatory thing (read the thread) they said if the cars to manufacturers spec you don’t need to inform the ins company even if they change it

Re: Bristol bans diesels
PHEV size being the smaller battery ranges currently found in PHEV cars, not the even smaller ones found in hydrogen cars. As the performance demands for hydrogen grow then so will the supplementary battery size to something about the same as a PHEV battery anyway. People will inevitably want their...

Re: Model 3
Thanks Elon for the second free 5% power increase which should take it knocking on the door of 500bhp now. As if it needed to go faster  Scheduled departure with preconditioning will be very useful if we get a very cold winter Stopping mode will be super useful in London (using brake regen ...

Re: Bristol bans diesels
What happened to the original hydrogen vehicles which used an adapted petrol engine to burn hydrogen? IIRC they also only had water as a byproduct. And it would get rid of the lithium and rare earth problem. Fuel cells are far more efficient; they also burn hydrogen and only have water as a byprodu...

Re: Bristol bans diesels
@Swervin_Mervin It’s a US study so it would be lower than 80% for people in this country. You could always change energy supplier to a renewable based one if you really want to lower it. As for end of life solutions I think Tesla are going to implement a closed loop recycling system as there’s only...

Fucked a rim last night, over tired and with a chest infection, in the dark Waze took down a new route through a width restriction with a tight left turn 20 feet afterwards, I pulled out to turn in easier and had not noticed the wonderful council had installed raised kerbs both sides after the restr...

What power mix does that MIT study assume for the Tesla ?
What difference would being on a zero emission elec supply make?
Was the Tesla factory 100% powered by zero emission elec supply which I believe is the case now!

And? If you're referring to the "57% of electricity generation was low carbon over the period, produced either by renewables or nuclear power stations" then I've got news for you - low carbon does not mean zero emissions ;) There's lots of trumpeting of the reduction in coal-fired generat...

Same reason why we still use any old tech, nobody wants to spend the money until they’re forced to. We’ve been hearing people say we should be investing in moving away from fossil fuels for at least 50 years and it’s only been token measures until very recently. apart from tech nurds ;) this is an ...

The huge CO2 impact of these initially is so much greater than Nuclear. I don’t see the extra benefit over nuclear but we are expecting a good few customer jobs from them as the build ships have our engines in them so I shouldn’t complain. Dave! The problem is there are so many different sources of...
