Re: The House Projects Thread
Whilst some were removing concreted posts I was adding them. The very dry weather means the goat pasture isn’t growing sufficiently and I don’t want it to get overgrazed so I started expanding their land into the woods. https://i.ibb.co/nLD7vKR/237635-E0-8-ED5-4-D9-A-B388-3-F42-C38-A1478.jpg Fencing...

Re: The Weather Thread.
All the warnings really make me question how countries which actually get hot survive this every day - makes calling it an emergency seem a bit overblown.
And then there’s the whole infrastructure going to shit.

Re: The Weather Thread.
It's not as practical as a dehumidifier as it's basically just running the AC compressor at full power the whole time. Handy if you need to dehumidify during the summer as it will conveniently cool the room, not so good if you're using it in a slightly damp house or garage mid winter

Re: The Weather Thread.
Generally when you use them in AC mode they drip water onto the hot condenser and it evaporates away. If you use them in dehumidifier mode then they produce more water than can evaporate so it collects in a tank or you hose it out.

"All of the tools remain in excellent condition, with the dark residue on the pliers being confirmed as protective lubricant, rather than corrosion."
Would one sniff it or taste it, to confirm?

Re: The Weather Thread.
My AC bill is through my service charge as it’s a central unit installed in the carpark and as I’m paying £2800 a year it’s on all the time
Got the portable one at my parents place - 1.3kwh at full beans so a couple quid a day for a few weeks use per year. Not even £50 a year

I planted 500 trees last year, enough for everyone on here to run an AC without feeling guilty

I thought this story would end with the scooter chucked in a river.
Walking down the Thames embankment at low tide it’s incredible to see how many ebikes and scooters are chucked there.

If it’s affecting you that much perhaps you should consider a portable AC unit? One of things where once you buy one you wonder why you bothered struggling in the heat for so many years.

Yeah it’s still preferable to rainy and cold for me. Mornings and evenings are lovely and just perfect. I did pop out at lunch time today and could feel that it’s the bastard kind of sun that would cause sunburn very quickly, then saw a fainted woman who had 4 police officers fanning her!

I think Blink and Ring are the same stuff just packaged differently. Blink are a bit cheaper but seem to make their money back through having a more expensive subscription.

Re: 20 Wales
I reckon it’ll be 10 mph in busy areas by the end of the decade. Complete with the usual road safety advice that 10 mph saves emissions, reduces stopping distances and of course if you hit someone they’re 23 times less likely to die.
Re: Sky Glass
Sounds good, cheers.

Boo to no recording. Can you pause the live stream?
Also with Netflix I see that it’s only £5 a month on Sky rather than the £11 I currently pay. Do you get to make multiple accounts and watch it on devices other than Sky?
