Not sure about on the way back mind. Buddy has a habit of buying car shit. Last time he came back with a cylinder head and a set of ITBs for his MX5 in checked luggage

Luft Tokyo

So my car buddy here in NZ messaged me last weekend and said 'Do you wanna go to this?' It helps he works for an airline and gets mates rates on flights, but in short, we're going to Tokyo next month:

There has to have been meetings behind closed doors where they discuss whether he can be neutralised, surely?

Re: Your fleet running reports

86's aircon has decided to be an either on or off thing. As in start the car one time and it works. Get out, go to the shop, start it again 10mins later and nothing. Next time you use it, it works again. Has proceeded to be now 'not working at all.'

I'm assuming from this that the system actually ...

I read a Medium article last week where they claimed China have just hired all the senior ASML staff, just to throw another geopolitical bomb into that mix

And as an aside Dave, it's great you have Caroline to rely on. Never knew she had moved to New Zealand. She seemed like a good person, albeit only based on her postings here etc. I never met her in real life

Edit - that's Caroline, Photographer and occasional soap maker with the 3.0 Z4 and the ...

Re: 2025 review / 2026 plans

Like last year, I've had this thread open for ages dreading engaging with it - way too much like looking in a mirror when I don't want to see what's there. However... You all engaging with it, sharing your ups and downs is a good thing, it does make this thing we're doing all seem more relatable and ...

The main thing I'm pondering now is whether they ought to go on stands or not. It would be a very tight fit to get them on stands and point them towards me outside of the width of my desk, so I'm contemplating more desk mount stands and looking at stuff like the link below ...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

I'll chime in on this...

I used to hate wearing a helmet while riding, but in NZ it's illegal to ride a bike without one. Anywhere. If you're spotted by the cops they do stop you and fine you.

So I reluctantly gave in to wearing one, and it didn't take too long until I simply wouldn't ride without ...

Re: Speaker nerdery again

Thanks Mik.

I think the overall clarity of the Logitechs that have popped is good but not great and sometimes the bass has been overbearing (though obviously there's a volume knob for that) so an increase in clarity versus a bit of a drop in bass isn't a bad thing. Seems to me looking at a lot of ...

Speaker nerdery again

Friends, you were all very helpful while trying to put together a hi-fi system from my Dad's gear, so asking for your thoughts again.

At my desk in my (home) office I have been running a Logitech Z906 (that's the Dolby THX certified one) setup without the rear speakers, so what's that 3.1? Left ...
