Re: Test drive report
Perhaps the metallic red. Have a look at both the reds in the metal if you get the chance! :) In the GRP? I'm pretty sure it's only Magma Red which was used on the 2023 cars which I'd be choosing from - looks nice in photos but I haven't seen it in the flesh. Is it a bit more marmite than I w...

Re: Amazon and Proximity
Whilst I wouldn't rule anything out, I do think that we are bombarded by so much advertising these days, it's near constant. You might have inadvertently looked at another 100 adverts that day, but you remembered that one due to the relevance (also probably they knew you were at a garden centre so y...

Re: Dangerous beers...
Non-alcoholic beers don't appeal to me. I'd rather have a water or a "proper" soft drink. I get that, sometimes I have found that I don't want something sweet though, and you don't want a huge glass of tonic water if your friend is on pints. I don't drink it a lot, but in some situations ...

Yeah, I like the regular one. It's not a patch on that, does taste very different, but ok in its own right.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 3:35 pm I’ve quite enjoyed the regular ghost ship, I’ll have to give the N/A version a try.

Re: Dangerous beers...
Of the N/A beers I've tried, Guinness is ok, Old Speckled Hen and Ghost Ship are both respectable offerings too. I keep seeing the Days stuff advertised, want to give that a go.

Re: Dangerous beers...
I've just today received a case of 12 Brains SA. Reminded by a friend who had a pint of it the other day that I've not seen it in years - used to be the go to beer for this household when the 6 Nations was on. So I just had to order some. I had that Brains stuff in Cardiff, was decent. What are the...

Re: No F1 thread?
Kind of how in the NFL, the worst team gets the chance to pick first from each year's draft of new players It's a great system the NFL has to keep it competitive. I think the problem lies with money, the NFL is able to do that because they are fed by a massively successful college system. If you do...

Re: Dangerous beers...
I've had a pint of Guinness (or two) and a sausage roll in there. I wouldn't say I know the difference between a good Guinness and a great Guinness though. Edit - The best pint of Guinness I ever had was in Dublin, but NOT the ones on the factory tour (seemed pretty average to me). It was in a fairl...

Re: Dangerous beers...
I'm going to contradict myself on strength, but some top picks for strong-ish dark best bitters are Fuller's ESB, and Tring Colley's Dog. Ideally on tap though.

Re: Dangerous beers...
I find that much above 7/8% the taste tends to suffer, e.g. Westmalle Dubel is excellent - tripel somewhat less so. See for me, the tripels and quads are the best Belgian beers. Only certain ones mind you, but that extra strength adds complexity to the flavour. Mind you I love an Imperial Stout too...

Re: Dangerous beers...
Excellent! I had a London Pride today, mundane but decent value in bulk from Costco. I tend to get a box of London Pride and a Mad Squirrel variety box, covers most bases.
Might have to go to the local beer shop and get something more interesting at the weekend.

I've not had that, but a Google suggest it's my kind of beer! Will have to look out for it.

I'd happily start a thread to discuss the science in the show, as I find this part of physics fascinating. I don't think I'd get many takers though. I could talk about theoretical physics all day long  Away from multidimensional stuff and nanofibres one scene struck me as unbelievable fr...

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
Volvo S90 if he can cope with a 4-cylinder engine. 730d isn’t too ugly if you go for the pre-facelift version before the gopping grille was added. 6-series Gran Coupe? For mile munching only the Volvo of the above will come with active cruise/lane assist which makes a massive difference to the driv...
