Re: Brian Thompson

Fascinating profile. Certainly doesn't sound like his family had problems with affording health care.

Re: No F1 thread?

Pleased to see McLaren win by the way, nice to see a bit of a changing of the guard for one season at least. Next season has a lot of potential! 8-)

Re: No F1 thread?

There were similar conspiracy theories about Hamilton, the cars and setup could well suit one driver more than the other but the teams are far too competitive to ever purposely hold back one of their drivers, its jut not in their DNA. Surely there's a load going on that we can't see with parts for ...

I added gold wheels to my black 7. I can't believe that you don't have encyclopedic knowledge of my car history.

Re: Assad - not dead but lucky!

Yeah, reports say that the rebels softened their hardline tone to garner more public support, but it was undoubtedly lip service that will soon be forgotten. I fear that it'll be a case of replacing one brutal regime with another, all we can do is hope at this point.

Re: UCAS Process

I'm at the other end of the process to this, we've just done the application for reception. So I'm just going to use this thread to moan about that! ;) I'm just shocked that in this day and age so many schools (round me at least) have a religious elements to the whole process. Many of the schools ha...

Not a con, also not a magic money tree, just a market with winners and losers. I understand bitcoin is already essentially controlled by large institutions, so big picture it'll be moulded into another method for the top 2% to extract money from the bottom 98%. No reason not to make money out of it ...

Re: Which Evora Is The Best Evora?

I exclude the GTE in account of auto only. After that certainly based on the pictures mik posted the 410 looks like the best looking to my eyes. Plus a good dose of powah over the earlier stuff whilst still not being TOO EXTREME FOR THE ROAD as I assume the 430 is. Seems like the best option if one ...

It’s a pretty poor state of affairs when receiving decent customer service is a cause for celebration tbh  Indeed, finding someone who gives enough if a crap to take pride in their work is increasingly challenging. I guess people are trained to believe that if you aren't being paid a few mil t...

My wife had to deal with the EA through work the other day (she was trying through water company who were beyond useless), she was very quickly able to speak to someone who confirmed that it wasn't their jurisdiction but said they'd send a strongly worded email to the water company to tell them to s...

Re: Jaguar?

I watched Harry's vid about it. I actually think the marketing campaign might be quite clever, if you're trying a radical relaunch you want people talking about it so they are taking notice of the new product. I'm not sure it really matters that it's mostly negative because more people will have see...

Re: FTAO historians

I expect the scenario tends to be that the explorers visit a new place and probably bring back a few things for the king to try (which no doubt have already been deemed safe). It would be very rare for the monarch to be at the frontier of an unknown culture that was so distant that things like spice...

This just looks like a concept car that won't look anything like any car they actually build. It's probably not worth even thinking about at this stage.

Lewis bothered the start and forgot to hit the pit lane limiter button, will be surprised to see similar school boy errors when he is in a red car. Once in a while he seems to have a reset season where he's just not really on it, I'm hoping it's that rather than time catching up with him this year....

Bernie's family definitely need that extra couple of hundred mill! :D

If it were me I'd be figuring out a way to get them into museum/s, but they're his so if he wants more cash for the fam I guess that's fair enough.

Wife's birthday in between the two weekends and I don’t know what we're doing yet, but 2nd is probably the most likely best option for me so I'll stick it in the diary and try to swing it.

Re: Bye bye Starmer

I must be getting old because the bar for a media story and apparent public outrage seems pretty low these days. I can't believe she had to step down for that, it's also disappointing that KS didn't circle the wagons and weather the storm with something so minor. Usually when the wagons aren't circl...
