Re: Food Fred
It's addictive stuff. The Mr. Kimchi we've had a few times and tbh I'm surprised I haven't yet had it for breakfast! On the breakfast thing - I'm hugely cut down my cereal intake and tend now to only have shredded wheat on mornings where I'm heading into the office. I've switched to having Greek yog...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
I'm not totally convinced yet tbh, the line of who's at more risk between a ped and a cyclist isn't as defined as a ped or cyclist and a car. Like, if someone steps off a pavement without looking, causing me to swerve to avoid them and get hit by a car, that's an accident. If I hit the person inste...
Re: Food Fred
My partner makes Kimchi, it seems like a doddle tbh. Just prep the veg and leave it in a kilner jar to do it's thing. We've 2 large Kilner jars sat doing nowt for some time and I keep meaning to do some Kimchi as we always end up with too much cabbage from the veg boxes. Still not got round to it t...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
At least one of the directors at my work is a CG, there was a Ferrari 812 Comp parked outside yesterday when I was leaving. Another one has a Maybach S600. Spotting the cars is cool but parking £600k car at work when the average salary is just bumping £30k seems gauche  Same at my old place. M...

Re: Your fleet running reports
There's another 5 mm of metal to use yet Swerve! :D I didn't get to see the discs, but when I asked how bad they were he just looked at me with gritted teeth. And when I asked if it was normal for rear pads to wear so quickly, he said it's not normal but also he's rarely seen front pads worn throug...

Re: Your fleet running reports
what else have you been "fixing"...? I think the standard reply to that kind of question is “your mum” ? :D It didn’t cross my mind they would be stretch bolts, I think I’ve only ever encountered those on cylinder heads. From googling they seem to be M10x30. I’ve got plenty of ordinary M1...

Re: The House Projects Thread
Just to add - we've been with Home Protect now for 12 years and can't fault them. Never had to claim mind, but they take a very sensible approach when it comes to underpinning that most insurers won't touch with a barge pole. Our premiums have always been fairly reasonable with them.

Re: The House Projects Thread
Every day's a school day.... "Sorry, we can't offer home insurance as your home was originally built in 1800." "Why?" "Don't know". "What year can you insure houses from?" "1801"..... We had exactly the same problem. Three suggestions: - Speak to @H...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Yeah. 110% of the pad used.
New discs required not surprisingly. Oh and no rear wear sensors so that brake warning light was on bectthe front pads needed doing as well
Re: Dangerous beers...
Do we really need to include 0%/low% beers in the dangerous beers thread?

Re: Uber Black: Ar$e reviews of back seats
I had a GLE Uber last year and it was fecking appalling. Rock hard ride and a rock hard rear bench seat. Acres of crap plastic as well.

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
When someone does a genuinely close and dangerous pass like that scaffold lorry, it kicks off a massive surge of adrenalin, as neatly demonstrated by the cyclist there  anyone fronting up to a bunch of scaffolders definitely isn't thinking straight  Do you think cyclists would get so pu...

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
Tyre pressures were perfect because I find BMWs especially susceptible to not feeling right even if they're only 1-2PSI off. And no Xdrive back then

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
That's absolutely appalling. My E46, and long before that my wife had an E87 118d, both were very good. Even my 740d would do mid-forties mpg on the motorway. IMG_2047.jpeg Yeah it was shite  The F20 125i we had after it achieved an average only a couple of MPG lower. In fact, on a mway cruise...

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
Drinks less than the 120d and 320d courtesy cars he’s had despite its size. They were broken or he was ragging them senseless. The 120d especially should do 60+mpg without breaking a sweat. Even my old E46 320td would do 60mpg and that was without any modern tech. And it had over 200k miles on it. ...

That guy seems to be on every Ring video these days. Does he just stand at the barrier and take handfuls of cash off the Tubers to rag their cars around?

Re: People (Office)
I would never have guessed that people that work in IT-related industry would prefer to sit at home in their underpants than work in a more sociable office environment  We try to do at least 2 days/week in the office where everyone can be in at the same time. It's nice just to leave the house, ...
