Re: Your fleet running reports
My Audi did a full automatic emergency stop while I was away in Anglesey at the weekend. It was at a traffic light controlled crossroads where there was a car coming towards me slowly, indicating to turn, so I started to edge forward as I was turning right across him. My car must have thought there...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I think we have a dragging pad on the nsr of the Superb I'm guessing that it's probably just the sliders that need re-greasing. Has anyone done this on a VAG model with the electronic parking brake? I don't have VCDS or the like so was just thinking I could take one pin out at a time to re-grease, ...

Re: Tony Martin Pt2
Given the lack of firearms charges noted against them, I seriously doubt it - firearms offences are an easy win for the CPS given how restrictive ownership/use is here. This was rural Derbyshire, not a needle-strewn estate in east London. I was just going off what's listed in some of legal pages wh...

Re: Tony Martin Pt2
I'd have thought just having a loaded shotgun pointing at them would be enough for the scrotes to scarper, but maybe the "aggravated" part meant the guy did feel in real danger. Or as @Gavster says, he was at the end of his tether or had other stresses too. Or is it just a natural extensi...

Re: Tony Martin Pt2
The tone of the whole piece is pretty odd, but I guess they're severely restricted on what info they can include at this stage. I don't get why telling us the dead burglar played on a football team is relevant though. Because it's crucial that we know how many "promising footballers" are ...

Re: Decent Recent TV
I finished watching this last week and absolutely loved it. Beautifully shot and fantastic acting from the Japanese cast - I'm less sure about Cosmo Jarvis. I've actually ordered a book - "Anjin - The Life and TImes of Samurai William Adams" but believe it's on back order at the moment. Te...
Re: Parking
That's pretty self explanatory, look at the angle of the car parking spots, it's not easy to reverse in as the angle will be too sharp. In this case you're right. Although I'll often advocate for echelon parking to be reverse-in only. They used to have reverse in echelon bays years ago near Central...

Re: HMRC Automated Phone System
When you somehow get through to someone, in my experience, they're usually very helpful/good (and sometimes give you a direct number). But those fucking speaking menu things are an absolute nightmare. I never speak to a speaking menu. It has to go through to an operator anyway if you don't respond....

Re: No F1 thread?
I imagine Ferrari and Aston will write him a blank cheque. Can't do that with a cost cap. Unless he suddenly has a desire to start a catering company of course  Top 3 highest paid personnel in the team are not included in the cost cap. Or something silly like that. Really?! I didn't know that....

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
That. If it's not OK for a bike and a vehicle to simultaneously occupy "their" lanes - then what purpose is it serving? Marking out an area where vehicles aren't supposed to go - when there are no bikes present in that lane (?) - and not providing anything additional when bikes are presen...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
Yeah, marking out lanes is a bit daft if the marking don't actually designate where you want people to stay. That. If it's not OK for a bike and a vehicle to simultaneously occupy "their" lanes - then what purpose is it serving? Marking out an area where vehicles aren't supposed to go - w...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
It's still a pretty close pass and can't imagine it was necessary to be on the line like that, when there'll be at least a good metre on the other side.

Re: The Movie Thread
Went to see Civil War last week. I really enjoyed it. It's far from the action movie you might think it's going to be if you've seen the trailers. It's essentially a story about war photographers, but also paints a picture of the mindset of the different US sub-cultures. It's a bit like the 2nd half...
Re: EV Thread
You're right, Rich - it's a vehicle which lends itself to adventures which is a bit spoiled by not being able to go more than 125 miles from home into the wilderness. 250 mile range is probably optimistic anyway; if you can use say 74kWh of the 77kWh battery and take my best efficiency of 3.1mi/kWh...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Just passed 10k in the Kuga, averaged 81.7 MPG overall since I've had it, no creaks, rattles or issues, it's been a superb car, I'd certainly recommend one as a family car. Massive boot, loads of space in the car, great seats, stereo, and it even manages to be quite fun to drive. If I ordered again...
