Re: Your fleet running reports

Yeah. 110% of the pad used.

New discs required not surprisingly. Oh and no rear wear sensors so that brake warning light was on bectthe front pads needed doing as well 8-)

Re: Uber Black: Ar$e reviews of back seats

I had a GLE Uber last year and it was fecking appalling. Rock hard ride and a rock hard rear bench seat. Acres of crap plastic as well.

Like, the roads in a lot of Europe are chaotic but most seem to shrug it off. People here treat the commute like going to war.
That is true tbf.

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

When someone does a genuinely close and dangerous pass like that scaffold lorry, it kicks off a massive surge of adrenalin, as neatly demonstrated by the cyclist there  anyone fronting up to a bunch of scaffolders definitely isn't thinking straight  Do you think cyclists would get so pu...

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

Tyre pressures were perfect because I find BMWs especially susceptible to not feeling right even if they're only 1-2PSI off. And no Xdrive back then

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

That's absolutely appalling. My E46, and long before that my wife had an E87 118d, both were very good. Even my 740d would do mid-forties mpg on the motorway. IMG_2047.jpeg Yeah it was shite  The F20 125i we had after it achieved an average only a couple of MPG lower. In fact, on a mway cruise...

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers

Drinks less than the 120d and 320d courtesy cars he’s had despite its size. They were broken or he was ragging them senseless. The 120d especially should do 60+mpg without breaking a sweat. Even my old E46 320td would do 60mpg and that was without any modern tech. And it had over 200k miles on it. ...

That guy seems to be on every Ring video these days. Does he just stand at the barrier and take handfuls of cash off the Tubers to rag their cars around?

Re: People (Office)

I would never have guessed that people that work in IT-related industry would prefer to sit at home in their underpants than work in a more sociable office environment  We try to do at least 2 days/week in the office where everyone can be in at the same time. It's nice just to leave the house, ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Yeah, it's 5.5hours all in, most of which is for the gearbox which with the ZF8s is a pain-in-the-arse job that involves getting the box up to temperature after refilling, doing the Magical ZF Dance of Acceptance etc to flush the fluid through all the valves, coolers, etc. The rest of it is pretty ...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

I've just had a look on Google and yep, that's a bit of a shit layout. Guidance is actually pretty good these days (since 2020) - it was a bit of a free for all before that, and that is a prime example. There's no markings to clarify priority, the surfacing is a right jumble, and then there's stupid...

I've yet to find a layout that's confusing so I'd be interested to see what that looks like.

Re: Your fleet running reports

That sounds like a lot, all round. 5.5hrs to do a box service? I think I paid about £300 for the ZF service kit a few years back and an hour's labour. What are they doing for the other 4hrs? Or does that include for the cam cover gasket as well?

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

If you look at the cycle lane coming the other way, it looks like it stops where it reaches this crossing - likely just a pedestrian crossing? And I think therefore the cyclist was riding on the pavement, then crossed the road, and the pedestrian didn't expect to get hit by a cyclist at the START o...

Re: Your fleet running reports

My Audi did a full automatic emergency stop while I was away in Anglesey at the weekend. It was at a traffic light controlled crossroads where there was a car coming towards me slowly, indicating to turn, so I started to edge forward as I was turning right across him. My car must have thought there...
