Re: Your High field MRI Scanner Fleet Running Reports
Why the fuck are animal MRI scans more expensive than human scans ?
Bupa rate cardiac MRI with contrast - £2000
The same on British Heart Foundation research charity rate - £420
Interesting. The bill for the MRI on my shoulder was £425 IIRC, this was just before Xmas. Are the rates ...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
The margin was too big for it being a protest vote, it was a win.
However, i think it has opened the door to future protest voting. All of a sudden there’s an “alternative” option getting a chunk of their own votes, with their own policies and candidates, with a leader that isn’t as bland ...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
I should add that I know the LDs have been miles off it since the coalition, but hey, they're still a grown up party (what's left of them).
They're just not grasping the nettle though are they? The current situation should be an open door for them to occupy some sensible middle ground, but ...

ETA: There's also been one hell of a row about "family voting" going on, with one group claiming that such shenanigans were the highest they've ever noted, but the returning officer responding that concerns should have been raised during the voting window, not after the polls had closed.
It's ...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
Seems to me it was more a protest vote. Against how it's generally going under Labour, but also potentially to a degree because of the Burnham snub - he's not that popular nationally but in Greater Manchester he is very popular (I'm no fan!). Those on the right voted Reform, those on the left voted ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
This passed an MOT in January :o with just a (strong) advisory. My parents live in a village and the local garage is "generous" and "understanding" on MOTs for trusted customers, and with some of the older cars that's OK because, well, they're old cars. But this is not an old car and those brakes ...

Well I wasn’t expecting that
Darcy Graham steal was marvellous, but what a crazy error in an International game - without that Wales would have romped home.
Missed the second half as was driving. But caught some highlights - that was such an incredibly daft thing to have seen. Only ...

Re: State of the Roads
This persistent rain is wreaking havoc on the side roads by me - made worse that they're hidden by all the water. I've hit a couple and amazed I've not damaged a wheel or tyre.
Guess we'll be waiting for it to stop raining in May before we see any repairs however....
Our Council are busy with ...

Yep, what Beany said.
I've recently had a new one - Lenovo Ideapad Slim5. Has an Intel Core 7, but curcially I went for 32Gb of ram. Has made a huge difference, especially when I'm running AutoCad whilst on a Teams call.

The visibility looks a bit cack out of the new cars - the area that the Halo connect to behind the driver now coming a lot further forward almost to the front of their helmets. I can't believe it doesn't cut down some of their peripheral vision.

Re: The NHS is really good!
I say this as it is interesting how people perceive quality in healthcare. I do a pretty specialist job and I have seen patients who thought they were getting brilliant care because the waiting room was plush, the doctor had a smart suit, and everyone had lots of time to listen, but actually ...

Re: The NHS is really good!
IME it depends on the Trust, specialism of illness, pot luck on the day, general organisation etc, etc. If you're in the system for the long haul, you have to have your shit together and be switched on, as the onus will generally be on you the patient to know WTF is and has been going on.

I could tell you plenty about how terrifyingly shit it is, and how amazing it is. And it should not be such a tale of two extremes.
Glad you got sorted so quickly though!
