Re: Pilchards

Love pilchards/sardines. Nice on a bit of toast!

Also love corned beef. Did go off it for a while after finding some bits of blood vessel in my corned beef hash. <gip>

Re: World Cup

2 best games of the tournament so far for me. England would have been monstered by any of the four teams that played today.

Totally different standard of football. Uruguay vs France should be interesting. I reckon France will struggle against the Uruguaian defence

Re: The Weather Thread.

You might have gathered from the news that it's been a bit warm here, and dry for a very long time now. Stank of smoke over here in Altrincham this evening. Weirdly, the last time I remember a moors fire of this scale was back in '06, when we had a long hot summer, and I'd just handed my notice in a...

Re: New shiny - Galaxy S8

Well I just got new shiny as well, given that I might be required to hand back my company mobile at any time. So after much deliberation I went LG V30. Same internals pretty much as the Pixel 2 but SD card slot and headphone jack, and much nicer looking. I'm impressed so far. It's not pure Android, ...

Sad news :( And 54 is no age. Saw them live once at MK Bowl Ozzfest in '96 and they were truly heart stoppingly stunning.

RIP to the big man and one of the best drummers.

Re: Soooo, some stuff happened

Cheers chaps. 12 years in one place for 2 of us and 10 for the other, so we've had a fair old stint. It's only my 3rd job since leaving uni 18yrs ago! The only thing making me nervous at present is sorting the finances with the banks - hopefully once all that's in place we should be set. Jobbo - Tra...

Soooo, some stuff happened

Flew back from Spain on Wed. Then yesterday me and 2 of my colleagues met with our company directors to inform them that we were tendering our resignations. We make up an entire section of the company. One of my colleagues is a Technical Director of said company. This therefore went entirely as expe...

Re: Le Mans

I thought the LMP1 category was on equal footing but watching qualifying yesterday it’s anything but. It’s Toyotas race to lose as the non-hybrid LMP1 cars have so many restrictions which makes no sense as you would expect them to be slower anyway. They have odd rules such as having to lap slower t...

Re: Changing Run Flats for Standard Tyres

Yeah, same findings as us. Doesn't have much bearing on most aspects of handling, but I find the chassis just feels like it copes better with the reduced mass, and ride & nvh is notably improved.

There's only one thing that would put me off owning one - having to rely on the Renault dealership network. They're fvcking useless. Easily the worst part of my 197 ownership experience.

Didn't Jobbo once have both (albeit a mk1 MX5) at the same time and ended up selling the Boxster because he found he always ended up taking the Mazda as it was more fun?
