Re: 1.6 Tonnes is the new heavy
5.7% turn out which seems crazily low. I would have thought that would impact a lot of cars, especially the trajectory that modern cars seemed to have increased their weight. I know the French stereotypically like their small city cars, but cars like the 3 series would probably fall foul of that 1.6...

Re: No F1 thread?
Just had a Sky Sports notification that Hamilton is joining Ferrari next year. Didn't expect to see that

Re: Harry’s Garage
It was a pretty brutal review! It seemed entirely fair though. I can't believe that specific car was £115,000. The depreciation of that is probably going to be ridiculous as well. I just don't know why someone would want one of those...

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Just re-read my post and it does sound a bit like I wrote it was just an automatic now. I meant as an additional option to the manual.
The CarWow video covers quite a lot of detail, including a chat with the lead engineer.

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Just watched Car Wows video on it. It does look like they've made improvements based on feedback about the original version. Adding a torque convertor auto seems like a strange addition, but sounded like they've tried to address some of the concerns of that type of gearbox with this sort of car. I'm...

Re: Manual or Auto
I've only ever had one Auto car, which was a DSG Audi A3, which I thought was fine for the few years I had it. Never had any issues with that box personally, but mainly just left it in auto as most of my driving was on the motorway at that point. I am tempted to give an auto a go for my next car whe...
Re: Lights
Slightly different, but I've found just driving in the dark a pain more and more recently. It feels like headlights becoming brighter and brighter and with larger vehicles like vans etc, they seem to just be at eye level. Hadn't realised until recently that having an astigmatism impacts how you perc...

Re: Coronavirus
I was ill just before Christmas. I guessed it was Covid, but didn't test so no idea. Had a fever, ached all over, cough, runny nose and just feeling constantly drained. I had one day of no sense of smell / taste which was very odd. Glad that didn't last. I still get a bit of a cough every now and th...

Re: Gaming 2023
I remember really enjoying the first TDU, but no idea if that was just nostalgia/being young when I played it. I'm pretty sure I also remember TDU2 being rubbish and giving up on it. Forza Horizon has spoilt some of these more open world racing games, as I don't like the driving mechanics in compari...

I still remember being dragged to a Pogues concert by my dad when I was a kid. RIP

Re: Smartwatch v mechanical watch
I very nearly went with the blue dial when I was initially looking. Was a tough choice! I really liked the green dial also.

Re: Smartwatch v mechanical watch
It's just the date version, with the black dial on a rubber strap. I really love it.
Just looking at the Oris site as well, it's now gone up in price by £300 since I bought it. Well, if buying direct from Oris.

Re: Smartwatch v mechanical watch
I wore an Apple watch for about 18 months, but it just sits on my bedside table now. I got fed up with what felt like the constant notifications to do something. You need to stand up etc. I was being a bit obsessed with trying to complete the rings daily. Just found it a bit too much of a pain. Then...
Re: New Capri
That looks horrendous... Trying to go after the X4 / X6 / GLC / GLE Coupe SUV things? Can't imagine buyers of those cars would swap to a Ford.

Re: Have you EV’d?
I thought I'd only been in a Tesla Model 3 as a passenger, but reading Nissan Leaf jogged my memory that I drove one at the o2 arena years ago - Nissan had some sort of experience centre there, no idea if they still do. It was obviously forgetful! I'm sure they've improved a bit since then, but I ju...

Just catching up with SAS Who Dares wins, the celeb edition. It was funny seeing Matt Hancock getting a dressing down at the end of episode 5
Re: EV Thread
The full video is in the decent YouTube videos thread - worth a watch. It was crazy seeing how quick the battery drained throughout the course of the lap. I'm not too sure what happened after a certain point, but it definitely seemed restricted towards the end of the lap, wasn't accelerating anywher...

Re: Forza Motorsport
I downloaded it via Game Pass to have a quick go. Played about an hour and got bored. It's not really moved on from FM7 in my opinion and made some odd choices around progression. It's been 6 years since FM7 was released, so no idea how this one could have been rushed out, but I know it's been delay...

Re: Forza Motorsport
This is the first Forza game since 3 I've not pre-ordered. I'd normally go for the highest version as well with VIP etc. I'm not sure what it is about this new version, but it's just not really interested me. The few reviews I've seen make it sound like it will be quite the grind. I barely play my X...
