Re: The Movie Thread
Knives out 3 absolutely outstanding ensemble knocks out another very entertaining whodunnit.
A touch too long but it'd be hard to pick what to cut.
Josh Brolin absolutely rips into the hellfire priest role.
Four unexpected phantoms out of five.
I was a bit meh about this one, it just didn't ...

Re: FAO Gavster - Chocolate Orange!
I guess that if it's not longer labelled as chocolate, it doesn't have to contain any cocoa at all now?

I've been reading Dilla Time recently, all about James Yancey (who later became known as J Dilla)
An incredibly influential hip-hip producer and sometimes rapper
I've been aware of and listening to his music, and music of people he worked with for years now, but it's been really nice to see the ...

Re: Randomness
I think there's more confusion there; it sounded to me like he'd pressed the SOS/EMERGENCY button - rather than he dialled 999 himself - probably thinking it's like the concierge service that some manus. have. The line may have been bad enough his end to miss a couple of things the call handler ...

Re: The Music Thread
Gavster I've never really been into them either - some of their early stuff is more approachable and actually listenable, but they're one of 'those' bands who I kind of feel compelled to experience. Getting early access to a gig I could walk to and home from felt like the best/easiest opportunity ...

We went to see Autechre at a club in Brighton last night
I have mixed feelings
It kind of made me think of taking a sauna, or a really deep tissue massage - they're nice when they stop
And while they're happening you're thinking "why did I pay for this?!"
It was quite an unpleasant experience ...

This is a new Kathryn Bigalow film on Netflix that starts with an ICDM being detected and heading towards the US, but without any systems having spotted where it was launched from.
There's 20 mins until it lands, but what to do, given the US doesn't know who fired it - and ...

I've been watching quite a lot of the Australian Supercar highlights on YouTube recently
Some amazing racing, great looking/sounding cars, interesting tracks etc
The last 10 laps of this year's Bathurst 1000 were immense

Sad news - only 66 - but he's lead a life though

it’s bad isn’t it, that you almost in a way don’t want them to end the war in Gaza because Trump has been part of the solution…. i said almost!
I wouldn't go that far, but I do agree that on Gaza, he does deserve credit (if things do improve there)
The problem with Trump and the Nobel Prize ...
Re: Trump
I still think the best way to understand quite how mental Trump is is to read his speeches word for word to yourself
I don't know if he's ever finished a sentence?
Gets half way through a sentence then veers off onto something else
