Re: Ferrari Roma

Awful IMO - so many bits nicked from other cars:

- the holes in the front bumper from Jag Project 8 vents
- a general Aston feel
- lots of Jag XF (including the rear hatch/glass

Not a fan

Re: Airpods Alternatives

Got them from eBay... Think they can be had from that huge Chinese eBay equivalent (can't think of the name just now) for a similar price. Taobao? I was thinking of Ali Express Amusingly I now know why mine were cheap - they're Chinese domestic market ones - all the vocal prompts are in Chinese :) ...

Re: Airpods Alternatives

These 1more "Stylish" arrived this morning, and I've been listening for about 30 minutes. Initial impressions: - the box and general presentation is very nice - they'd make a nice present - feels quite posh/expensive - the case is nice and small, matt/rubbery finish, only micro-USB which is a shame ...

Re: Airpods Alternatives

I just ordered a pair of 1more (the brand name) 'stylish' (the model name)

Awful on both counts above, but they appear well regarded and they were about £50

I'm a sucker for these cheap wireless earbuds...

Re: New iPhones

Ok I am seriously impressed at the new ‘AI’ low light photo mode that has just released I would expect to use a 5sec+ exp on an SLR to get shots like this There are some very clever technologies out there now. For a while, the Pixel phones have had this "Night Sight" mode that takes a long exposure...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

Those "prepare" ads are a perfect microcosm of this whole fiasco.

Lots of money, a snappy hook, and absolutely no information/detail.

Prepare for what and when?!

Utterly pointless.

I feel like Wales having weathered the initial physical storm look the better team now.
Bold decision by Wales to go for that scrum but it paid off.

I was raised on Welsh rugby by my Dad so I always support them.

I'm running out of finger nails to bite now...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

For the past few years I've worked for an SME that does work with/for the NHS. I love the NHS (free at the point of delivery, they've done amazing things for me and my wonky heart etc) - but it can be fucking mental. I oscillate between "We must ensure we keep the NHS" and "It deserves to fucking di...

Re: The Watches Thread

36mm sounds v small to me. But its not my watch. So my opinion is worth exactly zero. Congrats to your stepdad 8-) It is quite small, especially by current standards. But it wore perfectly on his (skinny) wrists. The 39/40mm cases were very "Look at my big watch!" and that's very much not in keepin...

Re: The Watches Thread

It's a huge purchase for him, so I hope he's happy with it long term. I was very 'impartial' and not trying to push or influence him, but equally nudging him a little based on the (little) knowledge I have in this area. It's a really nice looking watch, not obvious looking (I can't remember having s...

Re: The Watches Thread

So... My Mum's husband (genuinely one of the most lovely people I've ever known) has recently started to express an interest in treating himself to a "good watch". He lives a fairly modest life, and wanted to splash out a bit on something silly - but without knowing anything about where to start - e...

Re: Google phones.

I picked up a brand new, sealed Pixel 3 from eBay a few months ago for £400 It's worth having a nosey about for something similar IMO (rather than hoping for a discount direct from Google, although I'm sure there will be one, I'm pretty sure it won't be as good value as buying from eBay say) The Pix...

Looks like the plastic protective envelopes are gone. My latest issue arrived proudly stating it was in a paper envelope to reduce plastic use ☹️

Re: Wrong spellings and words

Whenever we visit Wales I'm reminded of the following, and how I seem to have eradicated them from my vocabulary since crossing the bridge when I was 18 and only returning since for brief visits: b'there nowinaminute four toes (photos') isn't it & doesn't it in every single sentence My Welsh relati...
