Re: Bye bye Starmer
Yes I was wondering when someone would mention him. He's worth billions, owns swathes of the poshest parts of London, and yet didn't the estate didn't pay IHT when his Dad died. Something deeply wrong there! Trust funds appear to be a whole other (massive) loophole. 40% IHT on his £9.4billion would...

Re: Bye bye Starmer
Like some others however I object to IHT in principle. It's a tax on wealth that has already been taxed multiple times. For your house (the primary trigger of IHT for the vast majority) all your earnings that allowed you to purchase the property have already been taxed, and the purchase of the prop...

Re: Trump
Depends how close it is AFAIK. Biden's win took something like 4 days to be formally declared - helping Trump stoke the "stolen" fire of course.
If it's not close, it'll be easier to call it early.

Re: Bye bye Starmer
Isn't there a fundamental point here that this is a tax loophole that is being exploited for tax avoidance purposes. It was never intended to allow this avoidance, and just like any other tax avoidance scheme that diminishes tax revenue it will (and should) be closed. Otherwise you're basically say...

Yes. I believe that’s the sole function of the button on the side.

Re: The Watches Thread
I ain't paying that much! It was inevitable it was going to happen though. I did an EOI on the CW website when they launched and recently got an email saying they are hoping to get info on new colour options out in the next few weeks and they hope to get one to everyone who wants one in the second ...
Jaguar?
Obviously they aren't planning to kill the brand off completely, but it appears they want it to be (and be perceived as) something different in the future.... Not sure what's going to happen to all the stealerships & staff for the next period. :? https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/jaguar-st...

Re: "Always on" or "Always off" button?
The car(s) would automatically revert to this once you reached 12mph (from memory) if you drove off in Access mode, but you'd be sproinging along pretty uncomfortably up to that point I've only done this a couple of times but didn't notice any sproinging. Just a message saying it had reverted. If t...

"Always on" or "Always off" button?
Got a button that you always press for every phase of every drive? 1. E-Tron. Lane assist off. Reminded by Harry M's latest vid - is there a single vehicle on sale today that does this well? Absolutely hateful system. It's "on" by default of course and thankfully requires just a prod on th...

Nice. I fitted Thule bars as they were much wider than the official LR ones - much easier to access whatever you put up there.

Scottish Comedian. Battling cancer over the last few years - whilst still touring. Mrs mik went to see her live once and enjoyed it. I wasn’t her greatest fan, but she could definitely come out with some funny shizzle, and she certainly gained my respect for her stunt when Trump visited. RIP. https:...
