Re: Jerry can recommendations
@V8Granite I've wanted a proper Jerry can for ages as I agree they are an awesome design. But I've never had a need for one.... 20l is really too much for mower+chainsaw+leaf hoover+strimmer. I'd forgotten you could get short 10l versions though - just ordered one.

Re: Gliptone (aka liquid leather)
This may be news to me only, but the Gliptone products are now sold via Staingard. I see the GT11 & GT12 cleaner & conditioner that I’ve used in the past, so hopefully the same formulations rather than just the purchase of the brand.

https://twitter.com/mikermedici/status/1772857816052805821?s=46&t=beBpWz-KHdXBPRz7S-WsdA $200m seems cheap for that, feels like it’ll cost over a billion here. I guess if you can afford that place, you can afford to have your private medical/fire response team on-hand for when you want to use i...

Re: Jerry can recommendations
You need to speak to @scotta or @Nefarious . Those who race on a budget do a lot of fuel storing and pouring. And if they are based in Scotland, spillage is - of course - minimal.
You'll need a decent funnel.

Re: FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24
No. But it does mean that the first time you will have to pay VED is 01-Mar- 2026 , which just delays the start of this cycle for you to as late a point as possible. Not 2025? No - because the new VED rates are applicable as of 01-Apr-2025. (See the RAC link in my original post). Doing what is sugg...

Re: FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24
I can't say I've ever tried it, but can you really re-tax your car when the existing tax hasn't run out ? I'd always rather assumed it needs to be SORNed or already expired or else "computer says no" because it doesn't need taxing. Yes - I followed the above process this morning. Mrs mik'...

FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24
Good evening. EV owners currently pay £0 per month, £0 per 6months, or £0 per year for VED. Our UK Government has now decided this is a BAD IDEA , and from 01-Apr-2025, EV's will be eligible for VED. See HERE . I do not own an EV, but I opened this thread. Should I just move along, nothing to see he...

Two consecutive power losses apparently. (note - don't get too deep into the comments as it's filling up with 'Mercun conspiracy theorists. "This looks deliberate". "They KILLED the bow lights to further mask the approach" etc etc  ) https://twitter.com/truth68201238/status...

Re: Baltimore Bridge Collision
What's the weight of something like that Dave - 100k tonnes and more ? Wiki say “The general weight of an average-sized cargo ship is somewhere around 165,000 tons, while smaller vessels weigh about 50,000 tons and larger vessels approximately 220,000 tons.“ Sheesh - imagine how heavy the EV ones w...

Re: Paintless Dent Removal.
I guess you just have to understand it’s a skill which takes practise That. I chatted to the bloke who did mine and he’d been doing it exclusively for years. Didn’t do any other bodywork stuff as it’s so specialist. He explained that he was starting from the outer edges of the dent to push it proud...
