Re: Baltimore Bridge Collision

It looked almost instantaneous as it hit, suggestions the ship lost power which is why it drifted into the bridge.

Scary how fast that happened.

Baltimore Bridge Collision

Unbelievable how it just falls down

Bit odd how it manages to hit the bridge right at the support.

Had some taken out of my roof and doors on the Jag by DWV, can't tell there was ever a mark!

Re: Your fleet running reports

So I was warned (via t'internet) to watch out for any electrical gremlins appearing after the security update had been done. I didn't note there there was anything but yesterday I realised the global close function seems to have stopped (i.e. close all windows by holding the lock button on the key)...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've tried finding some but it looks like no one has ever done it before, I don't think people really play around much with Jags, The offset on the XJ wheels should make them looked pretty flush without catching the arches if my calculations are correct, I might need to drop them from the 275/35 to ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

10l of ZF LifeGuard8 purchased, new gearbox sump (has the filter in) and normal annual service booked for the Jaaaaag. As it's now staying it needs to be in good shape for the foreseeable, might need yet another two tyres on the back as well but I'll check it when it's up in the air, it's certainly ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

After much searching and head scratching about new cars, it's now being decided we're moving, so the Jag is staying.

Yay and also

Re: Teh Spotted Thread

Haha I bet. It was crazy, went in a river cruise round the houses, places made to look like Hogwarts, loads of fast food places owners had their original drive through windows installed in their homes! We saw a yacht available to charter for $2m a week, excluding expenses, fuel and staff! And it was...

Crappy picture as trying not to look too obvious given I'm on a business trip, but Miami is certainly good for car spotting! https://i.imgur.com/y37amtQ.jpeg Both for supercars and also seemingly th highest number of G-wagens anywhere on earth, sometimes in matching pairs... https://i.imgur.com/Wsv...

Re: EV Thread

Honda E's have started to come down to 15k and less now if you can live with the range.

They're fun to drive but the digital mirrors are a bit crap IMO.

I think this is my second choice for our new car now, after a C350e, as I can't drive that fucking horrible 2 Series.

Re: EV Thread

I'm in Fort Lauderdale at the minute and I saw a very familiar looking car, that I haven't sent for years, and it's an electric version!

Mini Moke!

It looks like the old ones, possibly a bit bigger, sounded weird when it took off, I've put a pic on twitter as I still can't post pictures here

Re: Your fleet running reports

Yeah I'm surprised how much they've held their values. I think the spoiler is factory, he's had it from almost new and isn't a car modifier in any way, it's a GT I believe which has a bit of a factory aero kit on it. I'll admit I'm tempted to have a bid on it and sod the Hybrid, we have one sensible...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Cheers Dan, looking at market it seemed ok to me, no hardtop and partial service history, I said to try and wait until summer if they can as id imagine it will sell easier then.

Had no idea these were in the 700 quid tax band either!

Re: EV Thread

The early I3's seem to have issues with battery degradation but the bigger battery ones seem to be ok. It's not a massive job replacing a cell or two if they fail (if the battery pack is made in the same way as a Leaf or Prius), once the pack is out you can access each individual cell to test and th...

Re: EV Thread

Two I3's I looked at both showed full charges but one showed 130 miles and the other 151, both similar mileage cars and both 69 plate cars. I'd guess there's a lot to take onto account though, so I'm not sure without plugging it in and checking actual cell values how you would ascertain the health o...

Re: EV Thread

Yeah I wouldn't be messing about with a full EV, I'd just leave it in charge all the time at home and keep it full, I'd rather have the convenience than worry about what might or might not happen.

Re: EV Thread

I'd say if you're not keeping it forever just charge it fully and don't worry about it.

Although only a PHEV, I fully charge the Kuga most days even if it's not empty, I'd rather have all the miles I can.

My friends dad has stopped driving and they're selling his S2000, It's not really moved for a long time but has still been MOTd , it's up at 14k, is this a decent price? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401295998736 Link if anyone is interested, I'm trying very hard not...
