Fitted the 20 quid ebay roof motor to the Bini I got off ebay and low and behold, all is working!

The simple fixes are the best ones 8-)

Re: Wedding rings

I've probably worn mine for about 2 weeks in the entire time we've been married.

I hate wearing any kind of ring, chain, watch or anything.

In fact I hate carrying anything at all, even bags, which is why when we go shopping to Leeds, the wife shops, and me and the boy go to the pub 😂

Re: Your fleet running reports

I attempted to change the ball joint on the Smart car last weekend, as usual nothing was easy and one of the bolts that holds it to the upright is seized in place. For some reason Smart decided the best Idea was to put the bolt in from the disk side so that you have to take the brake caliper, brake...

Re: Talented Audi Drivers

Before my S60's speed limiter was removed it would still go off the clock even though it was limited to 250kph so there must be a fair amount of error built in most cars. GPS says it was pegged to 157MPH so it was properly limited, was very smooth though when it cut in, like a soft cut. The Jag limi...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've not tried it Harry, the stuff I rubbed made brown stains like tar does, will it shift that?

Re: Your fleet running reports

I'd rather sling something less perfect body wise down a gravel track tbh! If I go rallying it would need a good 2 inch lift to be any good as it's very low, glass roof would be an issue as well. Looks like I need to find a 4th car to go rallying in 8-) Maybe a Fabia or a Punto Sporting? Came up wel...

Re: Your fleet running reports

So I've just been through all the receipts for the Mini. It had a new clutch 8 months ago, then 4 months ago had a NS Driveshaft after it was recovered to a local garage for a loss of drive 🤔 Also its had all the sunroof drains cleaned 2 months ago and all 4 suspension springs were replaced due to c...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Subframe out to remove the box on those, only a 4 hour ish job on a ramp so not too bad.

I'm not looking forward to getting my gearbox out on my back, with the help of a couple of axle stands and a jack, I'm used to having use of a ramp

Re: Your fleet running reports

This sounds like a date for 2021 :D I went to Uni in Lancaster so I don’t mind a nostalgic trip up to the NW. Don’t ignore the solos, they’re good fun and a good way of meeting some of the folk from your club. There will be a huge wealth of experience to draw on, and people *love* talking about the...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Oh and the roof works apparently, I pushed the button and it tries to move.

The reason it doesn't is due to the sealant someone's put all around it!

Should be a time consuming but easy fix!

Re: Your fleet running reports

Picked up and driven home. Feels peppier than I thought it would, but I've not been driving it hard until I know where the noise is from, slight clicky/tapping noise from the NSF on or off power in all gears, doesn't change note, same in all gears. CV Joint or diff I reckon, more likely diff relate...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I'll probably end up with 16 inch R56 Cooper S wheels as they're light and strong and fit over the brakes, cheap to replace as well.

I've got quite a stock of 225 45 17s in the garage which would be fine on tarmac (Yokos and Contis) but I think they will be too chunky to fit.

Re: Your fleet running reports

They're some 17'' chav tat, lacquer looks to be peeling from them all, I'll stick em on ebay and see what I get for them. Standard Mini wheels would do tbh, the ones on it really cheapen the look imo. What were the standard mini steelies? They’re the only car where the steel wheels always appeared ...
