Re: Test drive report

Oof, 140 mile range at 98% charge? That's city car range for bopping around town, not exactly what you want on a big, spacious five seater. Edit - just realised I must have read the numbers wrong in the ad, and that 140 miles is the trip, and ~200 miles is the range, which is a bit better, but stil...

Re: FTAO forum members looking to spend around £820k on a track toy

I could see these ending up with a ban on track days, I can imagine incidents where someone will be following one, loose focus on everything but the car in front and completely miss their braking point off a high speed straight- because that car doesn’t actually have a braking point  I also won...

Re: The House Projects Thread

Floors are being sanded today and we're trapped upstairs by sheets of plastic - it looks like house in ET when the government swoops down. Of course poor planning and preparation is to blame. Child #2 is wondering if she could get food delivered and they'd be happy to try throwing it up through an ...

I bought a macalister b&q special. It’s a bit heavy but the strap helps and it works. If it’s not going to be used often buy cheap and treat as disposable

I had the same thought when I got the focus. It doesn’t make any untoward noises at all and feels better put together than the fabia courtesy car I had recently. Pleasantly surprised, I expected at least one squeak or rattle from a 4 year old car

IMG_1459.png Through navigator error I was once directed down here in the scouts transit minibus. (They had their google maps set to walk  )It’s basically a green lane beyond where street view can see, and I’d been informed that access to the site where we stayed had a strange entrance road s...

Re: Tesla Cyberpuke

I’m guessing no the stainless steel trim just clips onto the rubber accelerator pedal like it does on most cars but it was a bit of a shit fit and the trim popped off. But I don’t understand how that would jam the accelerator? Probably goes the wrong side of the mats and locks in place. I’m surpris...

Re: Car Hire Lottery

It's a manuel, and the most notable feature is a drive-by-wire clutch that allows the engine to switch off whilst being automatically and simultaneously decoupled from the transmission when you are on the motorway (or local equivalent) at speed, and you head down a hill, or deactivate the cruise to...

The overriding thing i'll take away from the experience however is the nannying. That’s pretty much anything modern really. My focus is a 2020 car and has such niceties as Auto lights- only auto in the dark so you look like a cunt if you forget in daylight rain My old 2012 Focus had a setting on th...

Is it just me, or does this look like it's been running with no brake pads and the pistons are just pushing straight on the discs ?? It is a very small area to begin with, you can walk from one end to the other in minutes. They've not decided on further expansion yet, that I can see, though it is in the plans. Would I be right in assuming they have adequate affordable public transport to facilitate this? Not like anywhere in the...

Supposed to be better put together than equivalent Renaults as Romanian roads apparently make ours look like the autobahn. I do have a soft spot for the Dacia brand, feels like it’s filled the void of good old fashioned basic motoring that ford left when it moved more upmarket

Yes, but are they going to break into 7 houses looking for the key to your car? Like I said, it just makes it more effort for them and they tend to go for the easiest option Depends on the car. 1l fiesta, no. Porsche 911 turbo s getting stolen to order- possibly. Or if it’s a Range Rover just walk ...
