Re: State of the Roads

I was rather unimpressed with the number of potholes on the M40 yesterday. Local authority maintained roads I sort of understand the maintenance issues but Highways Agency? That’s just evidence of how badly run the country is currently. More than a few times on company meeting trips, I've been stuc...

Re: Today’s want

Every so often I get an urge and start looking at old Corvettes. Why the fuck is almost everything which is imported here an automatic. I can't think of anything worse than a 4 speed auto in a car like that  Because in the US, manual boxes are reserved for serious, hardcore drivers and they t...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..

I don't even think it's a real policy proposal, I think they're just trying to maintain engagement and drown out other voices on social media.

Re: Your fleet running reports

End to end encryption has been effectively zero-cost for well over a decade; there's no excuse for this. The article does touch on that towards the end - that ten years isn't really that long in vehicle development. My car is 7 years old but the L405 came out in 2012 and the architecture would have...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Security stuff. Long article about CAN injection. I didn't really understand it. https://kentindell.github.io/2023/04/03/can-injection/ A Range Rover Sport that was stolen by cutting a hole in the tailgate to access the wiring. Either search instagram yourself to try and find a photo, or use the li...

Re: Choose

F1 was my dream car growing up so would be hard to refuse. But 30 years is a long time and I'd imagine as a pure driving experience the T50 is just better in every way. So I would pick the T50; regret it and wish I'd picked the F1. Just wait for one to come up at auction. $20m is affordable when yo...

Re: Choose

I'm surprised no-one seems to be interested in experiencing a 170bhp/litre 3.9 V12 that screams to 12,000rpm in a car that weighs around a ton wet.

Guess nostalgia is a helluva drug.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I was looking at whether the adaptive cruise on the 1-series can be retrofitted to my car, but apparently the front bumper for the M135i is a necessity for cooling, and it doesn't have the ability to take the hardware gubbins. Which is a shame, but then again once I found that out I didn't bother lo...

See, I'm the opposite - always preferred a screaming V12 over a barking one.

Re: Choose

T50

It's comes across as an F1 without the usabiliy compromises (IE better AC and brakes) and with an equally fucking crazy powerplant for the size of it.

I can always buy an F1 later.

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..

Yeah, a lot of Sunaks musings yesterday were about fixing the country. Mate, who's been running it for the last fifteen years? Anyway, here's something that's worth absorbing before overthinking small boats/asylum etc https://freemovement.org.uk/briefing-the-sorry-state-of-the-uk-asylum-system/ The ...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..

I think the main thing is to elect a party that isn't, you know, using the deliberate harming of the poor and marginalised as a vote-winning tactic. Maybe a party that would be uncomfortable with the concept of lining their pockets as the country burns, and 'letting the bodies pile up in the street'...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..

Starmers speech was an easy winner today - pretty hard not to agree with words like "chaos" and "self serving" in reference to the Tories. I found it laughable that Sunak was banging on about 'not knowing what you'll get' with Labour. Mate, if I'm up to my neck in a bucket of li...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..

That speech sounded like someone trying to point out that the house burned down and collapsed, but look - look how easy it is to clean the roof gutters now that they're in the garden! While looking like a drowned (roland) rat. I screengrabbed this for my american disord pals, and it feels like it su...
