Re: Rivian's 2023 Results

Rivian came up somewhere else that I talk about cars, and I remembered this article and wanted to link it, but it seems to have disappeared from Karenable (understandable) but not made it to the SSOReport, @SSO ?

Early 20s folks are kids to me. I think if a 23 year old lass made a pass at me, I'd laugh

Don't know that games use to come on cassette tapes, as finished products? I'm not interested ;)

Re: Your fleet running reports

MOT'd, no advisories. Front brakes getting a little low, and one of the control arm bushes is noticably, but neither of those are 'advisory' level bad, just something he thought I'd like to know about, so I'll look into that and probably get them to replace the control arms bushings with something a...

Re: Your fleet running reports

**refreshes MOT check website for the seventieth time today** Where's mah MOT and service, garage? Edit: serviced. Thier deliver guy fucked up and spilled the engine oil into the cabin filter during the delivery though, so they had to get that redelivered, which pushed it to end of day, so MOT tomor...

Re: Convert a car seat to an office chair?

The other important consideration is that a car seat can be ergonomic for the position you sit in a car which is not the same as the position you sit in an office chair - legs out, vs legs down. Be wary about just assuming that a car seat will be 'better' just because it's a car seat - if you're sit...

Audi A2s are actually interesting, at least. Fuck knows what anyone sees in a Passat or a T4 Transporter.

B5 Passat fans are weird. They're like VW T4 fans and Ford RS fans.

That is American BHP per litre levels  I'd agree, but it's not even that torquey - 270 lb-ft. And it drinks like a fucking fish. https://www.fuelly.com/car/volkswagen/passat?engineconfig_id=&bodytype_id=&submodel_id=1235 (don't forget to change it to UK units - for the devoid of clicki...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I used to know a few around Scarborough, but around here, I've not really had the chance to find any.

I should probably do something about that now that I can afford the fuel and I'm not on call 24/7 any more (and so don't have to be near a computer all the time).

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've just checked, and indeed that apparently exists on this car in the manual (I was under the impression it was added during the cars lifecycle and didn't want to just try it for fairly obvious reasons) Bigger issue would be finding somewhere around where to properly try it. One day. Not today

Re: Your fleet running reports

Having never owned an auto before, I tried 'two foot launching' the car this evening - not hard, barely 1500rpm, and only for a moment, with the brakes held down quite hard. It was enough to surprise me, it launches hard. Believe the ZF8s don't like being held on the brakes under a load greater than...

Re: Ross Scott's stopkillinggames.com campaign

Update Petition got a response, and it was a mealy mouthed affair that basically said "go to the citizens advice bureau, scum" and that didn't actually get to the core of the issue; just waffle to make it look like it had been thought about. The Petitions Committee has caught wind of this,...
