Re: The Wine Thread

On that note, does anyone have a recommendation for wines to drink with Cocoa Pops? I think milk is more traditional with cocoa pops! Back in student days, one occasion after a big night, and probably still drunk, I decided to have beer on my cornflakes. Not nice. I do not recommend it. I wish I co...

Re: The Wine Thread

My other half has Migraine and just about every type of Alcohol, up to and including alcohol in deodorant sprays, gives her an attack. But she can happily drink Hole and the Clouds without issue - well a glass or two.

Split Rock is another very nice Marlborough Sauvignon

Re: The Wine Thread

I joined the Sunday Times Wine club few years back and it's been pretty faultless. There were a few I didn't like in the early days but they refunded the cost of the second bottle (each case is 2x6 bottles). I now only get what I like as part of my subscription and order a few extra cases over the y...

Jobbo wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 1:39 pm Dinny, if a client recognises it as a Rolf Harris then I'm sure they'll have the same view of it as I do: it's a good painting and the fact that it was painted by someone who lost favour does not detract from that.

Re: Rolf Harris

Is that a risk worth taking for a painting ?

There are other paintings - Richard Mcneil does some lively pictures of London - £200 in John Lewis... :)

Re: The Weather Thread.

Very clear here tonight but more red/pink than green. I took some pics with my SLR but didn’t really have time to do it justice. Was racing a failing battery. Tried F2.8, ISO 100, manually focused on infinity with 30 second exposure. Came out OK but more in the Red spectrum. Reading up, I should hav...

Re: People (Office)

I live 5 minutes from the office in the car so popping in or out of the office is absolutely fine. I've done 2 hours at home first, then nipped into the office for a face to face, back home for lunch and a few hours ans then gone back in for a 16:00. (to be around for deliveries) I've full IT kit at...

Do you reckon the boredom is down to the specific job you do - not suited etc. ?

IT s perfectly suited to remote working so I don't have that issue.

Re: People (Office)

Is it just the people or is the environment ? I like meeting up with people in my department because, as we have no fixed days in the office, it's variable who'll be in the day you are so it's not the same faces. Downside is that from time to time, the office can be quite empty so if you're on a cal...
