Re: Seatbelts on planes
I'm the same - tight for take-off and landing, loosely fastened for the rest. I've had come pretty horrific Turbulence over the years - Regularly flying into Des Moines in Iowa in a 40 seat plane during Tornado season. Flying to South Africa was also pretty bad when the Desert bit at the top hit the...

The self same people who were calling the British "Barbaric" when the migrant camps first popped up in Calais are now calling for immediate action to deal with this "Migrant Problem"

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
80% of Migrants entering the Irish Republic are travelling over the border from Northern Ireland. Given that, Rwanda aside, they will get a hell of a lot more in the UK than in the Irish Republic, this does suggest that a significant number believe the Rumour. Why else would they risk their lives cr...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
I'm not a natural Labour voter but objectively they are the right choice. I agree with Jobbo here As I've said previously, we need a majority Labour government and give them the full 5 year term. Personally, I won't accept any "It's not our fault, we inherited a basket case from the Tories&quo...

Re: Seatbelts on planes
What I've always wondered is how do the captains know when to instruct you to put the seatbelt on? Can you see it approaching? Is it data driven, or do you get a heads up from Fred 100km in front of you that their crew just lost their lunch? Pilots receive live data feeds from Global Weather Contro...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Coalitions do not work.
Britain needs a sign-post now, no matter if you don't like where it's pointing, not a weather vane, forever spinning and turning so as to not piss off one group or the other

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
We all know what we’ll get from Labour. Years of everything still being shit but “it’s not our fault the conservatives did it”. Then the money hose gets turned on and everything is brilliant…. until the money runs out and a conservative government gets voted back in on the back of fiscal responsibi...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
this is definitely the most important factor in deciding a government. Soggy self serving cunts are ok because they can do a speech. A PM needs to do both. When speaking in front of the EU, or Congress or the UN. When making statements in response to acts by Putin, or Hamas, or Israel, how he says ...

Re: Menopause is now a disability (UK)
You could be right Zed - I mean he splits his his time between London and Dublin so we only catch up in person a couple of times a year. He had a couple of longer relationships in his 30's and early 40's with women who "didn't want Children"... until they did. I think that's what led to is...

Yeah good outcome.
And a little kudos to the women - yeah she screwed up but fronted up, accepted responsibility and paid out with no hassle. Rare in this day and age

Re: BBQs
On the contrary Dave, I say meat with plenty of fat is idea for stewing, the slow rendering of the fat into the stock adding to the flavour. Lean meat isn't the best for stewing - at least in my experience

Re: Menopause is now a disability (UK)
That's not true though is it Dinny, there are plenty of women who don't want kids or find someone his own age who already has older kids. He chooses to date younger. Which is fine, just don't try and make a social justification for it  It's completely true Zed. In his experience, the proportio...

Re: Menopause is now a disability (UK)
I've a mate who's 50 this year and absolutely doesn't want Kids. He's very open and honest about it No women over 35 is interested in him as, in the most part, they're looking for more than just a relationship. so that rules out any set-ups of friends of friends, work colleagues etc. His choice is t...
Re: BBQs
I fancied a burger last night at short notice so fired up a chimney of coals and got a packet of Co-Op Rib and Brisket burgers.
For store bought packet burgers, they were bloody lovely.
I did have to flatten them a bit though as, like ALL packet burgers, they were too thick

Good luck to him…
Marriage, Kids, Stability etc don’t seem to be what he’s looking for so why conform to societal ‘norms’ ??
He’s harming no-one …
