Re: Holiday prices
If you want cheap getaways and you don’t mind city breaks go to Poland.
I priced up a trip in September for me and the wife, flying into Wroclaw, staying in a really nice central apartment with Airbnb for 4 days, then getting on a train to Krakow and staying there for 3 days, again in a really ...

Its a shame when stuff you like turns out to have been created by idiots
My hypnotherapist turned from being an incredibly interesting guy with life experiences you just can't imagine to being a Brexit Trumpeting Reform GE candidate (he didn't win).
Shame because between me any my other half ...

Excellent - Two must visits, if you can is Gus O'Connor's pub in Doolin, Co. Clare (Near the Cliffs of Moher) - Unofficially, the best pint of Guinness in the world. (and the Mussels and Trad Music can't be beaten). The other is Dingle (to stay a night if you can) and but you must do the Slea Head ...

Re: Holiday prices
It's something I've always wanted to do but never got around to.
There's a EuroCamp down south near Hossigor where each Tent is set up in your own little grass patch section of the Sand Dunes. Private ish etc. You can "Order" bikes, kayaks, the whole 9 yards. Boulangerie van and every morning etc ...

Yep, we've always booked Flights separately and got our own Villa.
Last time was before Covid 2018 - 3 Flights to Alicante were about £1000 and we got a 3 bed villa in a complex, rented directly form the owner, for 2 weeks for £1,200. No private pool but 3 different pools in the complex, including ...

Re: 2025 review / 2026 plans
Another vote for writing - I've found it to be very therapeutic. I started during my lowest point where writing down "What I felt happy about today", "What I can look forward to tomorrow! was necessary but as I've got slowly better, that sort of thing come more naturally (thankfully) so now it's ...

Frustrating... Should be configurable because some Waze users will probably need more **cough** notice of speed checks

Re: Tax return time
I'm 99% sure I got a letter from HMRC last year saying I no longer need to submit self assessment. This makes sense because I have previously had some addition bits and pieces to declare but this is all finished now and my last two submissions are simply re-stating what my employer has declared ...

Just nipped to the shops on icy roads near my house.
Given that it's been over 12 months since I last drove in Icy conditions, I've no idea if the tyres on my current car are any better or worse in icy conditions than the tyres that were on my car the last time I drove in icy conditions - which ...

Yeah plenty of dust in our lounge room too :D
While they tied up the Henry/Mindflayer/11/Scooby gang storyline they did leave themselves the obvious prequel hook with that cursed stone the guy in the mine had.
I do hope not - the lads who made it are obviously super talented and amazing ...

Stranger Things
Yeah we’ve waited far too long for this conclusion but just finished episode 4 and can say…
Brilliant… just fuckin’ brilliant
There may be a little too much comic relief in this series and it’s in danger of straying in into Harry Potter’s storyline but it doesn’t ...
