Train Dreams

Joel Eggerton stars as frontiersman and logger living in Idaho and tells the story of his life from the turn of the century to when he died in 1968.

It’s a very odd film in that it just meanders along through happiness and tragedy without, seemingly any message or lesson. Just the ...

We're going to see The Australian Pink Floyd show again in Oxford at the end of the month

They were awesome as always but the acoustics weren't as good as Milton Keynes Theatre. Also, the Older of the two Guitarists started freestyling a bit which is NOT ALLOWED. You MUST recreate the solo's ...

I'm right handed so I'd prefer the oven moved to the right and the larger counter top between sink and Stove but overall yeah, that's a neat design

I love that dedication to detail. There was house in the village I used to live in which was designed and orientated so the owners could sit up in bed, look out of the window and see the church where they were married.

Of course Falling Water is the most extreme example of this... ;) :)

Well finally a bit of a break for Ireland in the WC draw - but poor Wales, tribulations continue.

Ireland have Scotland, Uruguay and Portugal and if we win the group (by no means a certainty but doable), we avoid NZ, SA and France to the final. Then it's likely Tonga in the last 16, Argentina in ...

The front reception room is not going to be usable as a bedroom unless you can move the front door to the side of the building, so I'm going to rule that out.

Changing the rear reception room to a second bedroom will be a bit compromised by the need for a passage through to the kitchen but would ...

Stranger Things

Yeah we’ve waited far too long for this conclusion but just finished episode 4 and can say…

Brilliant… just fuckin’ brilliant

There may be a little too much comic relief in this series and it’s in danger of straying in into Harry Potter’s storyline but it doesn’t matter, it’s ...

Guardian has 3 of it's top 5 UK Politics headlines as "Oh... look how terrible the OBR are" - It smacks of deflection to me.

If she didn't lie, then there's no reason to "Draw a Line under it" (Quote Starmer) and move onto the “big, bold long-term plan” (tm Donald Trump)

I Like Me on Netflix

Documentary from Colin Hanks about the life of John Candy.

It won’t surprise you to know that there wasn’t a single negative thing anyone could think of about him. He seems to have been exactly what we would have hoped he’d be.

What didn’t know was he got his start in ...

I had the same thought process when I was commuting from Northampton to Slough 3 or 4 times per week. I would do Jct 2 to Jct 10 of the M 40 and used to try to use that part of the Journey to "Make up time", given it's very light on traffic etc.

Then I crunched the numbers and realised the 36 or ...

I have 2 nephews in Australia who are eligible for assistance under the NDIS programme. This is not means tested for a very basic and, I think sound principle that 2 people with the same challenges in life are viewed as identical by the state.

Their value to the state is not determined by how much ...
