I'm not much of a snooker fan but his voice as a commentator was iconic. I loved Big Break too back in the day

True dat...
I watched a Blitz documentary and by all accounts, nearly all survived the war. Some were blown 100 yards away, still attached to a chunk of the pavement but most were cleaned up and re-installed.

McLaren 750s
No pics as the owner came back but therefore, got to hear it start up and pull away.
No doubt it’s an amazing machine and every inch of it is function over form,
But by Christ it’s an ugly thing.

Re: Catherine O'Hara
Couldn’t agree more Zed 👍🏻
She was a comic, true and true and cut her teeth in the hardest of environments - the ensemble comedy troupe, performing sketches live in stage. That is not for the faint of heart.
I guess what I mean is I’d have loved to have seen her play more range, more often but ...

Re: Catherine O'Hara
I mentioned in another thread how she got her start with John Candy and others. Her eulogy at his funeral was lovely.
I think she was a far better actor than perhaps her career would suggest.
Rest in Peace

Re: Can I get a TV that's just a TV?
I have a new LG, a recommendation from here, and I have none of those issues.
In fact, I almost never use the TV remote. Sky remote turns it on, controls the volume etc. I watch all streaming via the Sky Q box.
You just appear to have bought the wrong TV

I've got a solid plumber / gas engineer, a sparky and a general builder guy who's my roofer.

Feel your pain DJ - we need the same on our Kitchen extension. Remove all tiles, replace waterproof course and replace tiles and re-do flashing
Thankfully I've got a guy who's honest and won't rip me off

The Noem one I saw yesterday but it doesn't seem to be published today - Probably just speculation that was removed once proven to be incorrect.
There's a lot of that going round...

Re: The Holiday Thread
We learned long ago that if you're not into your Apres (which we absolutely are not), staying in the resort is a waste of time. (Having a non drinker mate who doesn't mind driving in the evening helps too.

Oh right - in my mind, your trips were a regular thing...
My last two or three trips have been 5 day'ers to Kitzbuhel. Fly to Munich and it's a couple of hours from there in the car. We can do two of us, sharing a car and a double room, all in for about £1000 each.

Yeah, i’m sowing the seeds trying to get my mrs interested in going next yea
Good luck with that - I tried but gave up in the end. I think she's too "working class" for skiing, despite loving the snow.
Go solo - Plan well and have good insurance and you'll be grand
My issue is i don’t ...
