Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Like. Re the 190 S2 Exige, is it that hard to supercharge them? Could be some interesting aftermarket options. It’s expensive and not worth it. Just buy a supercharged one. Source - NA exige owner andy, tell me more about yours - do you still have an NA one? what’s your thoughts on the power delive...

Re: Lotus Elise S1 - tyres?
Thanks guys! I can confirm I am new, and also not a spambot. Good to hear at least someone else is having a good experience with the AD08RS, most of the chat in forums seems to be people lamenting the transition from AD08R to RS but not a huge amount of comparison between tyres we can actually buy ...

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
It is an interesting point to consider, what other cars give you a similar feeling of such a close connection to the driving experience outside of Lotus (or Lotus derivatives)? I haven't drive lots of different cars, but I think it would be hard to find in most modern performance cars from the usua...

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Rich, you probably ought to try the other end of the Elise scale - a supercharged S3 or maybe even a non-supercharged one for context of the performance. My Elise experience is S2 K-series (standard, 111S which I test drive) and S1 Exige (round Mallory). They all felt pretty similar really; that ma...

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
They. All. Rattle. My s3 clubracer had a really really annoying rattle that i discovered was the undertray where it joined the tub. Ive fixed that. Its still got rattles. S1 heat shields rattle. You would have to replace them all to sort that. Ross's Exige Cup 430 that cost £100k...rattles. If you c...

Re: Project Binky
I wonder how quickly one of the solder traces will get hot and melt? Probably after shaking itself off the fibreglass sheet and bridging to the adjoining trace… The way the solder trace in his testing clip moved as he turned up the current was blatantly ignored 😂 Myself an @mik were discussing this...

Re: Project Binky
I just can’t get past the fact that all of this nonsense could be solved by plugging in an Aim/Link/Stack motorsport dashboard display. This is not a mini at this stage. It’s a mini shell with very little mini left. The motorsport dashboard would fit perfectly well with the project. I keep wondering...

Re: For the FAO of stereoists
Use any input other than Phono; Phone (probably) has a separate pre-amp circuit because a turntable’s output is much lower voltage than other RCA inputs, and a phono pre-amp also corrects the frequency response. Different length speaker cables is not a problem. That’s the sort of bullshit which lea...

I’m sure I did post pictures of it on the comps however so your memory serves you right. https://gallery.seloc.tv/albums/userpics/56955/image.png Thats pretty much the look i want. Particularly ...

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
The victory alloys are well renowned in lotus circles as the tarts choice. By far the heaviest factory wheels. AWI wheels are much lighter. Which of course were the wheels I had on mine 😜 Did you have Rotas on at some point too or am I imagining that? I've got TMRs and AWIs, the TMRs are lighter ob...
