Done. Not well worded at all, with the way it has been worded and laid out. Clearly we are all meant to start ticking how impactful speed is and suddenly give this bloosy stupid idea a thumns up.

Re: Crap design in modern cars
i have a heated screen too which might help, but i did have to wait a while the other day when i parked facing a certain way at work and it misted over. What could you see through the screen to cause it to steam up? The direction - i sometimes find if i park facing my house my screen doesn’t fog up...

Re: £10k buy vs ~£300 pcm lease
My Bio Paternal unit had an Arona a few years back, or whatever the teeny version is called. It had an amazingly high spec. We did look at a black 19 plate Ateca which had leather and what not but it was a dirty diesel and although I have done 20k plus since July 2023 when I bought the Superb, I tho...

Cool new Star Wars stuff coming soon it seems, I rather like the diorama stuff so I'll be getting the Tantive/Vader boarding scene 8-) https://images.brickset.com/sets/large/75387-1.jpg My son bought this, when it came out, just to get the official Fives clone figure, he built Vader and Fives and t...

Re: Crap design in modern cars
I am not convinced by the need for massive screens TBH, yes, looking at a sat nav map that is a little bigger is handy, but I don't need MPG, or HVAC etc on teh touch screen. I suspect when I change the Superb, that will be a tricky choice as more recent Skodas seem to have moved to touch screen. My...

Probably one of a handful of Dakar purchases that actually makes sense 8-) It wouldn't surprise me if Mike's is the only Dakar purchased in the UK that's being used as intended out in the wild. Deeply cool 8-) My sone and I saw one with decals and rood rack etc and it was immaculate. It looks far c...

Don't rule out the Superb hatch or Ocxtavia hatch. The Superb is looooong though, fille most spaces to the brim so if you are in a city, that might be an issue? My hatch can fit a bike, a large fridge, two single beds, doors. The roofline on the estate is fairly sloped so the loss to hatch is not a...

Ah, nice. I think my ideal garage would have 3 cars, or at least 2 for me and another for my wife.
A van and a Lotus does seem a very sensible choice.

Very nice. I do prefer the look of the VW to the Transit or Vauxhall alternatives.
Is that replacing your M2? Or the family 3 series 320d (If you still have one/have ever had one)
Edit - Just spotted EOTR for teh M2.

Re: combi boilers - what should I know?
We don't ever run both showers together, just been reading up a bit and looks like a newer combi with better control would suit. a quick google suggests anywhere from £600 up which is helpful right enough!

Re: combi boilers - what should I know?
Cheers all, I thought it was a simpler question than it appears to be. We live in a 3 bed semi, two showers.
It is a combi we have at the moment, no water tank at the moment, physically it is decent sized suitcase, a Worcestershire I think, may just be Worcester though.

combi boilers - what should I know?
Probably lots. We bought our house new 18 years ago this coming January. When teh boiler has been serviced, the engoneers have generally said "ooo, they only last 10 to 12 years". We have a leak from behind the boiler, we called the engneer who had serviced the thing out, he had a look, we...

When the cars got nicked I lost my Serrengetti glasses, I loved them for driving but rarely took them out the car to keep them pristine. I then couldn't find an actual shop to try any on so ended up with polarised Oakleys. They do sometimes get taken out the car but I have Goodr glasses for running ...

Yeah, if McLaren want to win Driver's Championship, favouring one driver makes sense, although I wonder of they will only do it when it is pehaps too late to make a difference.
