Re: Parking fine advice please.

Is it a fine rather than a charge? Assuming it is just pay it. Double yellows mean no waiting or parking unless the signage says otherwise which is unlikely given you got a ticket. I am going to guess you were loading a sandwich or pie so probably wouldn't count as a heavy load. :)

My dentist asked if I had Indian ancestors due to my gums???!!!

Does that mean I should be offended?

Re: EOTR - Evo Magazine

I am still a subscriber but I have noticed recently how often within a review they have different cars. Picture of a blue RS3 saloon on the cover of a recent issue, then a grey one tested against the M2. The Newcomer on the Bentley had two different interiors and a lot of the pictures now seem to be...

Re: New Tyres?

Fitting is not a problem, my Saab Specialist is happy to do that. It may not be worth the hassle though. I don't have a Costco and years ago they fitted 4 tyres to my Puma (not yellow) and damaged the centre caps which hacked me off. Might just try Kwik Fit for price matching as my mate works there ...

New Tyres?

Anyone know of a cracking deal on 2 or 4 tyres at the moment? Having a nose at Blackcircles but nothing outstanding.

Cat D is light cosmetic damage. Have a good shufty round, chances are it will have been a bumper or light cluster.

Re: What am I missing? £20k ish choice

Given my penchant for ageing Swedes I cannot comment from experience of super saloons and the like but the idea of spending £20k on a C200 gives me the boke. The AMG ones look and sound great, the others look like poverty spec taxis.

Have you considered an S80 V8....... :)

But the low BIK tax is very pleasing. ;)

Anyone fancy a 5m old (slightly akwardly named) Alpina Alpiner4 auto? I think this is bl00dy lovely with the blue sunburst dial, but cant justify it to myself at the mo. Selling on the Chris Ward forum. Seller is based in the US but is a known and trusted forum user. He is looking for £485 includin...

Re: "The car is making a clanking noise"

I had a cross shaped one with different sized sockets but It got left behind in Edinburgh when I moved to London I think. The nut that has been put on is not one for an actual wheel though so who knows what will fit. The mate I am borrowing from has a 4 sized one so I am hoping one of those will work.

I have two socket sets but most of my tools are for woodworking etc. This is only the second time in twenty years I have needed a larger socket. I intend to request a larger set for my birthday though. :)

I read JL's post again as I hadn't spotted the quadruple negative either, I understand his comment completely and a free with the sentiment. Plenty places will replace parts until a problem is solved with no real knowledge beyond reading a fault code.

Re: "The car is making a clanking noise"

Still not got it done as when I got dry weather I discovered some daft bastard had fitted normal nuts of a different size to the supplied wheel brace. And due to having one working car have not been to my mate's to borrow his larger socket set. And now I have looked out the window to see it is pissi...
