Re: Caterham CSR20
Stupidly expensive. One thing I've never understood which someone on here may be able to clear up. The CSR has inboard front suspension and independent rear suspension - obviously solving the limitations of the standard set up and should be much superior. So why is the CSR aimed as a road car rather...

Re: Where to get (decent quality) impact driver bits?
Impact bits are usually black, it looks like the bit holder is impact rated but the rest look like normal bits.

Re: Where to get (decent quality) impact driver bits?
I find Milwaukee and DeWalts own impact bits last the longest but no idea if they come in that size but it will be expensive for a sacrificial tool.
You’d be better off getting an impact extension and then the usual stubby bits.

Posh vans may hold onto values even better now and get even more kitted out following the double cab pick up tax changes?

Re: New “car” thread - Phase 1
VW have that corner of the market all to themselves though. There's no real alternative to a California so they can charge what they like. Nobody wants a Ford Transit Custom Nugget. Yes, they actually called it a Custom Nugget. Refers to van once the wet belt has said adios.

I wouldn't touch anything from Toyota with a CVT, absolutely awful.

Deport the immigrants and replace them with Tesla robots.
Re: Trump
I know it’s turning into a meme but Biden’s speech addressing Trump’s victory is odd. He actually looks like he has a new lease of life, can walk properly, talk properly without slurring. A throwback to 2020.
Maybe Harris was drugging him all this time to replace him

I’ve just seen that the Macan weighs 2000kg, thought it would be around 1800kg mark!

Is the rent a pittance? I'd imagine just chucking wild flower seeds and entering the stewardship scheme would be better and you won't end up with land which will not be tied up forever more and looking out to an eyesore.

Re: Bye bye Starmer
I imagine all those large solar farm projects are funded by large corporations. They cost millions to set up, I doubt even someone like Clarkson could afford the initial outlay.

Also solar farm means you're not having animals farting, and you're not adding to nitrate pollution. Win win for the planet.

I never looked into agricultural property relief, as it doesn't affect me, but perusing through it during lunch now I have learned a few things. Which now make other things make sense. You can't just buy a load of fields, leave it and then get IHT relief, the land has to be worked. Amongst the thing...

Can’t see land prices dropping at all or really being impacted. It’s now treated the same as any other asset, not taxed punitively compared to other assets.
Large corporations and developers in wait will be happy to pick up whatever land comes for sale.

Re: Trump
America is quite odd, having the new President wait until January before he can get to work. I thought Harris was a shit candidate, the main reason for her being selected was to preserve donations for the campaign. Voters needed a clean break from Biden and Harris. It was no different to Rishi runni...
