No incentives for electric cars. Light duty commercial get a few grand subsidised.
Annual road tax is similar to the old UK system in terms of tax banded into CO2 emissions groups but EVs still have a basic tax rate.

Re: The ebay thread
I’d have thought the front pistons would be cover a greater width, looking at the piston housing casting. It could be that they’re really shit pads and the edges have crumbled away leaving just the centre.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I’m surprised that EVs in the city seem to be much like London, mainly taxis, Uber, and maybe about 10% among private users. I thought it would be more like 90% being 8 months away from the deadline. Even a large proportion of taxis are new ice Volvos and they have no grace period either.

An old Volvo driving through central Stockholm. Something it has done for over 50 years but which will be illegal come January.
End of an era as all petrol and diesel cars will be banned. Even plug in hybrids bought today.

Have you seen that Chris Harris has started a series on YouTube on his newly purchased M5 touring? It seems a bit of a money pit so far though!

Re: Your fleet running reports
It makes no sense. Congratulates you that you’ve driven your car more than 90% of others and berates you at the same time for the CO2. The fuckwits surely realise that one leads to the other.
I wouldn’t want my data being tracked like that either and randomly shared out like that.

They’ll surely end up in the teens eventually? I see more Emiras in a week in London than I see all the other Lotus models ever made in over a month. They must have already produced more of them than other Lotus ever?

Typical lite Swedish beer due to the 3.5% limit but refreshing and nice hoppy flavour. Would drink again.

All the American cars seem to do that, remote start. It’s on the F150 and Camaro. Seems to be their not very environmentally friendly way of preheating/cooling the car

Re: Motorway Mile Munchers
Early ones suffered from snapped crankshafts but that seems to be more of a 2.7l and Land Rover problem, later Jaguar fitted ones seem to not suffer from that. Biggest problem seems to be oil dilution due to DPF cycles - I found a thread with a guy moaning about having to get his oil changed every 2...

Yeah, I've read a few buying guides on various forums about these, consensus is that it's a normal thing and no XJ ever came perfect  https://www.jaguarforum.com/threads/whats-up-with-the-misaligned-bonnet-and-fender-on-so-many-x-351s.138049/ Also, apparently it weighs only 1800kg in diesel for...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I think it’s a limp mode on newer BMWs but also one of those stupidly vague messages which could mean anything from a fuel filler cap not fitted correctly to the engine being close to grenading itself. Used to get it on the i3 whenever it broke an engine mount.

Very caramel and toffee. Don't like the rear screens (always looks naff), but the rest is rather lovely. More Worthers Original if you ask me. I thought it looked like it folds away and hides everything unlike other cars and it does looking on google images. https://images.drive.com.au/caradvice/im...

2026 regulations sound awful, essentially the cars will be like BMW i3s with range extenders at full chat all the time. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/newey-monaco-example-shows-why-f1-2026-will-be-a-strange-formula/10597235/ As Newey says, this is what happens when you let the clueless marketing...

Now called the Junior. Which is also stupid, perhaps even worse considering the original Alfa Junior was so iconic and this is just a turd.

He's put a deposit down on a diesel XJ in deepest darkest North England. Beige exterior, with beige interior and wooden steering wheel. I have been requested to give him a "quick lift" to Middlesbrough sometime this weekend to check that the car isn't a lemon. FFS. That has "...
