Re: Jack envy

i have a big breaker bar and a torque wrench, it just gets annoying winding them on and off - particularly as i have very dished wheels so using a smaller ratchet handle doesn’t really work as it hits the outer wheel rim.

Re: Jack envy

I don't own a jack, not even a spindley OEM type one... I haven't lifted a car or taken off a wheel in maybe 10 years?! How the other half live 😄 I bet you don’t have a dozen or more alloys stacked up in your garage either. i remember being a bit shocked that neither of our cars had a jack. I was a...

i would and have on most of my cars. There’s often a better/cheaper/available/etc size or spec of tyres that get recommended.

That treatment is shocking - imagine if it was your only car. Are they still trying to weasel out of responsibly?

My pedestal is getting quite crowded now - plenty of room on the “yes” level down there…

yeah, chop saws aren’t too bad - i use mine a lot. it’s often quicker to get it out and set it up than cut a few bits by hand.

if i was to buy a new one, id get a sliding one.;

Blimey, you must understeer more than Nebpor in his M5! you’ve only had it about a month!

If they can’t just be left in the boot charged “forever” then they’re kind of pointless. If your car needs jump starting enough that you remember to keep the battery pack charged weekly/monthly, then you probably need to fix your car.

A girl at my work had a dead car battery a few months back, she has an old c class auto, so no bump starting. No one had any jump cables, but we did find an old office floorbox with its electrical cables still attached in our store cupboard and a plan hatched. the ripped out wiring from the floor bo...
