Re: EV Thread
Yes, but a 911 has little things like build quality and character, and also isn't sold by a company which is very publicly and loudly headed by a weird little nazi-adjacent freak. So, you know, there's that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_Porsche#/media/File:Bundesarchiv_Bild_183-H06734,_G...

Re: EV Thread
My best mate has just bought a 2020 Model 3 performance. For mid £20k's it's crazy quick really. They've not held their money have they!

Re: Test drive report
It really works better on lighter colours to me - that does look good. Fuck paying £85k - I might be tempted when they are 45-50k though.

Re: The Movie Thread
I watched Poor things, I’d agree with a lot of what Mik said - acting/production/etc - I particularly liked the transition from B&W to colour as her intelligence/learning progressed. I thought there were great characters and incidental characters and mostly enjoyed it. But, I thought it was too ...

Re: Test drive report
The room above it makes it make a lot more sense.
I actually quite like the concept now I've seen it - having proper hard standing (and lawn) behind the house rather than just in front is probably quite a nice/useful thing.

Re: EV Thread
I quite like the Buzz too, but 250 miles just seems a little too low. It would mean I couldn't use it for the sort of thing I'd want one for. Loading up 4 bikes/riders and heading to Wales for the day or driving down to Cornwall with the family. I just don't see the large practical car as the right ...

Re: Test drive report
That's a really short "garage/arch/thing" - the ID Buzz isn't much over 6 foot isn't it? Got to be less than 2m all in?
I'm still trying to picture this odd set up with the back (and front?) of the garage removed to drive straight through - why didn't they just remove the garage?!

Re: Test drive report
I was behind a very dark green Emira yesterday - lovely car, wrong colour though. It just didn't work with the shape at all for me.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Yep 2.5 PHEV. so it's not really 80mpg, you're putting in electricity too. My M2 does around 5000 miles per gallon (of oil - I'm ignoring the petrol for my calculation). I'm not paying for the electricity, and you don't measure consumption of electric in gallons, so I'm 100% sure it's doing what I ...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Haha, it's very good on fuel, my wife uses it more than me and her commute is 8 miles each way on very hilly roads and she can get 2 days on just electric without needing to charge it, if I don't use it for work it would never use any fuel! is it a PHEV? Yep 2.5 PHEV. so it's not really 80mpg, you'...

Re: The ebay thread
Hard no on all of those  This will be rough as anything, an ex-Everyman Racing driving experience car, but it's the cheapest 360 I've seen, so that's where the bottom of the market is now: asking £37k. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375378508458 they can ask it, but is anyone going to pay it?

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
I say give everyone what they want and let the 5% provide all 😎 This is pretty much the system we have. Most of the population don't pay their fair share of tax at this point. 53.8% are net receipients of hand outs from the state and over 40% pay no income tax at all. Maybe we need to invert the ol...

Re: Test drive report
It’s the same weight as two MX5s though 😂 yeah, that is obviously other problem! But if they can work it to take advantage of the low CoG like a model 3 does, then it's potentially not as much of an issue as it could be. Helped by the fact it's also about 3x faster accelerating than an MX5. I just ...

Re: Test drive report
The Cyberster looks good but I don’t know what it is. Is it a Chinese attempt at a British sports car with some detail changes made in the U.K.? I’d rather have an MG that was knocked up in a shed by plucky British engineers. it's presumably aiming to be just an EV MX5 non? I quite like it - it's f...

Re: The ebay thread
Are the M5s that bad? My M3 was reliable and no problem for daily use - and it's effectively mechanically 80% of the M5. Yeah but age will be playing a part now. It's a 20yo car no? Lots of brittle plastic and rubbers (I've not watched the vid so no idea what work's been done!). People always seeme...

Re: Test drive report
Yep, Emira is a very correct decision for me. Something like an mx5 seems like a missed opportunity to me.
