Re: Your fleet running reports

...it seems like a waste of time. Unless a small and hugely boosted VAG engine proves more reliable than the original Porsche unit. I'll revise it to "unless you've got a highly tuned 1.8T or a boxster with a knackered engine lying about, it seems like a waste of time". If you're buying a...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

Yeah I know Rich. I would not envy anyone driving regularly in a city these days id like to think those rules apply where ever you drive! It's just a single line of traffic on a nice wide road. Incidentally, I've spent HOURS standing about 50 yards from this exact spot - the Hampton court kids play...

Re: Your fleet running reports

You f course it is, it’s a fun project and I was all for doing a cheap 996 till prices went up 50% and the same poorly looked after cars were for sale. It’s a 300pkus hp Boxster with turbo whoosh noises. If anything I’d want some lag and a bit of drama. I wouldn’t be for it if he wasn’t the person ...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

I see your point though. However, if I'm in the Mini and begin my turn right then try to inch forward until I can see clearly, there's still a significant chance I won't see a cyclist approaching at speed until it's too late, given the angle of the curve. I'll be halfway across the lane by the time...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

Driver definitely at fault but the cyclist kept to the inside of the curve and didn’t help themselves. How should the Mini driver have avoided this accident? - they're making a, presumably, legal left turn, they don't seem to be driving with any significant speed. The amount of time between when th...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement

I love the whole "lycra" thing which often comes up against cyclists. It's a weird one because nobody else doing some sort of activity gets slagged off for wearing appropriate clothing. Its not like you go and play fives with the people from work whilst wearing your suit and brogues. no o...

I like the overall shape, I just think the black bits at the back don’t look great.
yeah, I'm probably the same on it to be honest. The initial red photos still look crap though.

integrale_evo wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 7:32 pm I like it. The black bit at the back on the coupe looks a bit weird, but you can see what they were trying to do. It looks rubbish on the soft top though.
so you like it, despite it looking a bit weird and rubbish? 😂

That’s a lot of car for the money! It's definitely a lot of car. It's also a lot of money. However ! For a Range Rover with more LWB, for less money, this is being auctioned next week. Check out what the state of the art was for in-car entertainment at the time. https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/a...

I’m in Antigua for 4 days.. pretty girls here/there, and one that has lived on a double wide house boat for 6 years may just be crazy enough for me to be interested! 🤦🏼‍♂️😂 What's the significance of "double wide"? Is that just boat speak for "big". :D she's definitely be tellin...

Re: Car insurance

^ :? but good you got the price 8-) I thought I'd got a good quote until I read things through fully - no foreign cover. Ffs  It looks like I'll end up renewing with the company I'm with at 15% over last year, dangerously close to the amount Rich is paying for his M2  I still don'...

Re: Your fleet running reports

It will be GT3 fast and unlike the 996 market, which is 15k for some pretty ropey cars then the Boxsters are still affordable. It’s a very cheap way to a genuine 300hp per ton with a little work and I want to tinker. 10K would have a pretty nice one built I think. Will have to see what the kits com...

Re: Your fleet running reports

what Audi engine? 1.8T from his TT I guess. Obvious list of transplant candidates, particularly the Rapide. Yep the TT, there is a thread n Pistonheads where a guy may be building a kit. Broken engines Boxsters are pretty common and a nicely built 1.8T is only 3.5K. Should be a lot of fun with at l...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Excellent choice of fun car. While I’m still waiting for sensible respray prices to happen (very unlikely 😂) I fancy either an E46 M3, evo 5/6, Porsche Boxster to put the Audi engine in or Aston Martin Rapide. RS6 removed from the list due to pain in the arse parts. The list of forum cars people ha...

My E46 M3 was Imola Red inside and out 8-) If i recall correctly you or your brother had an Imola Red 330 or possibly a touring at one point? yep, my e46 was black outside and red inside, his was red outside and black inside. Imola was a lovely BMW colour. https://i.ibb.co/VJ1sLKQ/IMG-1788.jpg

Re: Randomness

I’m not sure the cop intended there to be a collision. As I understand it, the guy was riding an off-road vehicle on public road; and from the vid it looks like he’s not doing so at a sensible speed. I can’t tell if it’s within the speed limit. Maybe if it was a road vehicle it would have been able...
