Re: Coronavirus

. And, while I am here, if everything is so scary how come no masks till tuesday, and then not in pubs or massive crowds of people - just shops. Just doesnt add up. Probably in line with my post - if you're vulnerable or ill, you can very easily avoid pubs and massive crowded places, yet you might ...

Re: Coronavirus

I rarely wear a mask now, unless specifically required/requested. Everyone I know who's caught it recently has been via their kids, and hasn't had much in the way of severity. Oddly enough my boys pre-school ask for masks for dropping off/pick ups - I wear one, but it seems pretty daft when the boy ...

Re: Sport seats are the best

I can drive for hours in BMW sports seats - every BMW I've owned, whereas VW seats (from the basic model ones to the sports ones in my GTI) start to hurt after about 2 hours - there's something fundamentally wrong in the geometry of them for me.

I think that's foul! Awful colour, inside and out, and awful wheels!

Cool idea though, and rapid!

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

Having been out on a night ride this week I may revise my bike light suggestions a little... but not too much! One of my mates had a £400 exposure set (1800 lum head, 4000 lum bar) - which were amazing, until the headlight decided to give up. I couldn't find my old helmet light so had to do without ...

Re: This weather

On Thursday I was behind a M140i turning left off my road, he went a bit sideways (which I quite liked, even though my first thought as a 40 year old man was to tut). I then turned right with barely a touch of accelerator (on VERY cold tyres) and had a lovely bit of oppo- damn I missed rwd In The wi...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Interesting - though I wonder how much benefit the batteries are offering doing your high miles? You could probably achieve pretty close to 50mpg in a 320d or similar? Though obviously that wouldn't be as fast.

I can see the batteries really helping if you were doing <20 miles a day?

Re: My iPhone 7 Plus - still ND

I wouldn’t worry too much about the screen colour, I’ve noticed a massive difference in colour from different iPhones of the same generation which have been bought brand new / original screens. Of course, being an iPhone there’s no way to tweak it  Amazed me how easy it was to change the batte...

He cancelled the meeting because Bojo made an ostensibly serious diplomatic letter about a very serious problem into a social media post. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said Mr Johnson's public letter was "unacceptable" and the president said later he was "surprised by the ...

I thought it was Macron who cancelled the meeting? I've read the letter, I don't see why it would be an issue?

Just got back from a night mountain bike ride - perfect clear night - though it was down to about 2° by the end which was starting to feel a bit chilly in the fingers and toes.

Re: At least 30 asylum seekers die after dinghy capsizes in Channel.

Also, Rich is correct. The only way safe passage would work if everyone transported could stay - and this is obviously not feasible I don't agree with that. Not everyone who crosses in a pedalo or lilo is entitled to stay. Why would it need to be any different if people were to have a safe way of c...

Re: At least 30 asylum seekers die after dinghy capsizes in Channel.

Yep, what's the solution proposed on Twitter? If offering safe passage over just results in eventual sending back, surely the same illegal routes will carry on being offered? That giving safe passage to the asylum seekers would avoid this happening... There's nothing illegal about seeking asylum. I...

I forgot to ask - did you get a quote to buy it off them, Rich? If so, I imagine it was way over a sensible price based on Scott's findings above. nope, I casually asked what options I had next and it wasn't offered, but to be honest, even if it had, organising that on top of everything else would ...

Re: New car thread! Golf content!

Interestingly enough, the M2 is only around 6/7mpg down on the (what I considered to be very frugal) Golf. My normal daily commuting driving style tends to consist of full throttle blasts whenever possible (slip roads, tlgp, clear B roads) interspersed with basically hypermiling when traffic kicks i...
