Re: Your fleet running reports
John, remind me - is that a current shape MX5? I had thought that was my safest option for running costs and reliability (against an A110 and a 992) but I’m not sure I like these stories. Maybe another mk1 would be the right answer

Re: FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24
The tax breaks for EV's were always going to come to an end once they started to notice the dent in the coffers as more and more made the switch... Problem is that it makes EV's less and less appealing due to cheaper costs initally being the major draw; the increased initial price over ICE (althoug...

Birmingham Wheels
Yes, venue for at least one forum karting meet, quite a lot of years ago, is definitely no more. The site has just been sold to Birmingham City FC and will doubtless be redeveloped into their new stadium: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/wheels-enthusiasts-racetrack-hope-birmingha...

Re: Jerry can recommendations
I think I'll get a 10l one as well - picked up a 10l plastic can from Screwfix on my way home from work yesterday but it'll be good to compare the two. @mik - where have you bought yours? The 10l ones seem to be a bit variable, some not the right shape (no bump behind the handle for instance) and so...

Re: FTAO EV owners - possible action required before end of March-24
Just to get this straight for the rest of us fossil-burners - Can I re-tax my car right now at the current rate (£395 for Band K) and at least put off the 5% increase until next March? If you can (and I'm not sure you can), you'd definitely lose one month's tax that you've paid for this month - you...

Re: Jerry can recommendations
You need to speak to @scotta or @Nefarious . Those who race on a budget do a lot of fuel storing and pouring. And if they are based in Scotland, spillage is - of course - minimal. You'll need a decent funnel. Advice from @Mito Man is spot on. they were ex military cans that we inherited from Barry ...

Jerry can recommendations
I think I'll be using a bit more petrol in my mower than previously - I used to get through less than 10l per year but I have a bit more cutting to do now. So I'm intending to get a jerry can. There seem to be plenty of 20l metal jerry cans on Amazon for £20-25 delivered but I suspect they may be of...

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
I hope the GR Yaris fuel tank size gives a solid 300+ miles of range - would be embarrassing to have to stop before the EV6 too 😄 Back to the new pricing; I doubt this is going to cause the original version to drop much in value. I’d still rather like one and to be fair the seat position isn’t going...

Excellent! JonMad and I did a couple together about a year ago and it was great fun, though much more kncackering than I expected. Despite being co-driver.

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.
Those sales figures are genuinely surprising re 911 to Boxster/Cayman ratio. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at these car companies who over the last 5-10 years or so are having to do so much more in the way of software development, UI design and all the security considerations that come with it. ...
Re: EV Thread
Parkers must be showing old data - BMW’s own site shows the new shape 530e to be 2080kg. The new 520i non-hybrid is 1800kg.

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.
Given that the entire electrical system is the same as the 911 - this sounds like an odd decision. Maybe they're just trying to maximise the ICE 911 profits for the last few years of production? 992.2 launches later this year with hybrid tech.. if the elec system is the same, I don’t think they’d b...
Re: EV Thread
I think the Ionic6 looks amazing. It’s quite 911-ish from rear angles and the shape looks far more aerodynamic than an Ionic5. Good choice.

Re: Your fleet running reports
I’ve got a few pumps - the Ring one is quickest and quietest but because it screws onto the valve it annoys me and I never use it. I use a Halfords one I’ve had for 20 years or so most often. Can see merit in cordless and I have Makita CXT (12V), Worx and De Walt batteries so could go with any of th...
