Remind me who the mayor was the last time there were riots and looting in London…

Re: Your fleet running reports

I fancy a fun project and I’m really impressed by how well it fits in the engine bay of a Boxster. This is the thread…. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=2015662 Looks like a lot of fun and would be the wife’s convertible. Dave! Normally I’d be sniffy about the idea of droppin...

Re: Today’s want

It's definitely a lot of car. It's also a lot of money. However ! For a Range Rover with more LWB, for less money, this is being auctioned next week. Check out what the state of the art was for in-car entertainment at the time. https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2024-05-11/cars/ref-91-1994...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Excellent choice of fun car. While I’m still waiting for sensible respray prices to happen (very unlikely 😂) I fancy either an E46 M3, evo 5/6, Porsche Boxster to put the Audi engine in or Aston Martin Rapide. RS6 removed from the list due to pain in the arse parts. The list of forum cars people ha...

Re: Oliver Reed (25 year anniversary)

I went to The Pub in Valetta in 2015 and they had some newspaper cuttings and details of his order prominently displayed. I’m sure they still do. He was a legend and it’s a nice pub, well worth a visit.

FTAO @Jobbo: MX5 just coming down the road with the plate MX51GET spaced as you'd expect. first glance I thought you were making a dig at Jobbos size! 😂 I’m so unbothered that it took your post to notice but that does amuse me 😃 I thought when I saw a notification for this thread that someone had p...

That’s a fun choice Carl. The M2 more than the Sportage anyway 😄

Re: 12Cilindri

It does look a million times better in silver than red, but that rear end is just bizarre. I thought it looked pretty meh at first, flicked through to the silver one and started to like it. The rear end is less odd to me than the hairline but the whole thing is more interesting than an 812/Superfast.

I felt the same about the smoky outhouse. The next morning I always wondered if the food had been smoked or me. Did it not have a chimney or something? 😄

That’s really good economy - not what I’d expect at all. Well done on your hypermiling 😄

Re: Where would you live?

Cotswolds is bloody expensive for a house with tennis court etc. I think there are plenty of locations where you get more for your money and don’t feel like you’re compromising your house for location. I’d say look down the M4 corridor and try places like Lambourn, Marlborough etc and villages aroun...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Ha ha Matt 😄 I’m not sure I’m going to buy an Emira quite yet. The way the prices are visibly sliding and cars are sitting unsold means I am not comfortable committing that much money to something I won’t use all that often. I am still itchy about an MX5 and am pondering whether I could justify runn...

Proactive fix being to make it rwd only?

Re: Coffee beans

I'm not a coffee person really but I had a Colombian Farmer at Francini Cafe de Colombia in Worcester recently, and it was so good I had it black. So if I were buying beans, I'd definitely give theirs a try: https://francinicafedecolombia.co.uk/producto/quimbaya-espresso-coffee-beans/ Not trying to ...

Merc are also the company that make you pay a large yearly subscription to have the full power motors (that are already installed and working at a lower output) - so a hobbled sound system doesn't sound particularly far fetched. Just like the E90 BMW 325i with the same 3.0 6-cyl engine as the 330i ...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I've mentioned a few times on here about my Audi coasting with the engine off for up to 40 seconds at a time. It seems to be very good for economy. Anyway, I've spotted it a few times recently on non-motorways and that made me appreciate how refined it is - I genuinely didn't notice when rolling whe...

Re: Harry’s Garage

You need something that reminds you of your E92, not E46 ;)

It does look good like that, I agree. It no longer looks like a compact thing like the old M2 though; yours is still a better looking car.
