I do, but despite having considered it there’s insufficient money in it.

Re: BMW Recall

How did the fact that there was a car stopped on the road cause that poor chap to die in his Fiesta? The consequences are only the same as an alternator fault which drains the battery. Car stops with no lights on, as if it were parked. Yes, recall affected cars but I don't think Merc are recalling t...

Re: Leaze Deals

The Audi's quite a nice thing to be in too. Less of a Swedish lounge but it's decently specced and comes with my favourite alcantara trim. And it has an engine which I know and like from my Allroad, but weighs 200kg less.

Re: Leaze Deals

I'm pondering a new lease now. Here are a couple I've spotted: Audi A4 Avant Black Edition 272 quattro tiptronic; 3+35, 8k miles at £389.86 per month: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/main-dealers/swansway-audi-crewe/audi/a4/307033200/ Volvo S90 D4 Inscription geartronic (tempting because the ...

Re: Bagels

I have a feeling I mentioned this the other day, but Victoria train station in the late 90s had this Italian sandwich shop that would coax a breaded chicken escalope, mozzarella and salami into the best part of an entire ciabatta. Mother of God how good was that. There was a place opposite the cour...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The drive up to Oxford on Saturday morning was predictably awful taking 2hr 20m from London! As it turned out we had to set off back early yesterday as I had a couple of calls I needed to be on so the traffic was pretty non-existent and we managed the trip in a little over 90 minutes. Ah, this wasn...

Great to get an opportunity to drive it how it was meant to be driven without having to get up at 6am! You use your trip meter to record how man...

Yeah, toast them. The texture is wrong if you don’t.

That’ll be it - it’s my phone on which I’m always logged out. Thanks for the explanation at least 😃

I was logged out again this morning. I hadn’t even closed the tab. 3 days seems a bit short.

But when every other site doesn’t require CTRL+click, it is no longer my habit. Same as David, I keep closing the tab rather than clicking back.

Re: Explain PCP and car insurance to me

The GAP which Seb has will pay you back up to the invoice value. Consider, though, buying that same £30k car outright and having it written off at the same point. Your insurer pays out market value which should be the sum required to get you a vehicle of equivalent age/condition at the date of the w...

Re: BBQs

What is a Kamado grill? I see Aldi have been doing them this week; apparently quite good quality but £349 even at Aldi which isn't quite the impulse buy their weekly specials usually are. I'd never heard of them before.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I was also going to say that it'll be 5 years since GTA V launched shortly; but the fact that RDR 2 (which I think is a smaller game in scope, so shouldn't take as long to finalise) has been delayed so much indicates that it's just a really long process to build a game which actually uses the modern...

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

GTA6 is a long way off, and will be on a new generation of consoles Hmmm - not sure how close it actually is but GTA V came out on the previous gen initially so there's no real reason why GTA VI couldn't straddle the generations too. We haven't yet had a GTA which was built specifically for PS4/XBo...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.

New M5 is 1.2s quicker to 100mph than a stock RS6 Rich. Autocar tested it in damp conditions and compared it to dry Audi figures so it might be even quicker like for like.. I’m looking at buying a GT3 (manual 997.2 ideally). Problem is, I’ve just told the wife we can spend a bit more on a new house...

Re: BBQs

Like DaveE's mate, I use my gas bbq far more than I ever would a charcoal one because it's convenient. I can't get the same flamed/seared effect on my domestic hob so it's not quite the same as using a griddle outside. The new Everdure range has some charcoal bbqs with a gas starter - that avoids th...
