Re: The Music Thread

I didn't really Zed - I said their popularity is fuelled by rising Nationalism in Ireland. I didn't say they're popularity was being drive by racist views on Immigration. I don't know how Kneecap feel about immigration. But given their public persona, I'd say they have no problem at all with immigr...

Re: The Music Thread

You exactly related them to racist protests being organised by the far right.

The rest is just opinion. Their image is pretty much just punk expression.

Re: The Music Thread

Painting Kneecap to be the same as the headbangers protesting against immigration is pretty disingenuous Dinny. Aye, they’re republican but I’ve not seen anything to suggest they’re racist. Their republicanism seems to come from a sincere want for a united Ireland. Which is a valid political opinion...

@Gavster

Have you listened to Kneecap’s album. It’s pretty decent.

Pretty good example for someone doing a study on the difference between legal, moral and ethical imo.

Aye, something about his twitter header being an x-ray of some pretty serious spinal repair. Lots of plates and screws.

Re: Harry’s Garage

Aye, a Hilux at £35k +vat looks pretty appealing next to the LC

Saying that, I reckon the problems with the LC could be solved with a tuning box and some dynamat.

Re: Harry’s Garage

It’s a shame that British people don’t buy Land Cruisers tbh. They can actually do all the things we buy LR products for without breaking  That extra level of toughness just isn't needed here and compromises the car for everyday usability (no air suspension, 4 cylinder commercial engine, separ...

Re: Harry’s Garage

Harry said they were only bringing a few hundred a year here.

Like I say, it’s a shame because it seems like a decent truck and I would’ve liked a cheap one in a few years

Re: Decent car YouTubes

I think it’s that lack of compliance. You can see it seesaw onto its sills when a front wheel doesn’t have the travel to stop the whole front end dropping into a hole.

Re: Decent car YouTubes

I think any LR on coil springs would’ve managed better. The jacked up air suspension has zero compliance so it’s like trying to off road on a skateboard.

Re: Harry’s Garage

They do seem to have shot themselves in the foot a bit with the engine tbh.

In every other way it appears to be a better proposition than a Defender or Grenadier.

Would still have one over its rivals but it’s not the complete package it could’ve been.

Quentin Wilson looks like someone dressed Gollum up for a trip to the Ivy but this is an excellent use case for ev power imo.
