It’s hard to say it’s democracy when it’s becoming increasingly clear that right wing businessmen and governments have been sinking 100s of millions of dollars into attacking progressive politics all over the world imo.

There’s no plan because as soon as a party talks about spending more on the NHS they start getting hammered with the “magic money tree” patter.

It’s another choice though. In both the UK and US we’ve seen the mainstream assumed progressive parties vocally reject their progressive base to appeal to more conservative/regressive voters and I don’t think it’s been a success for either of them.
