Re: Sky

And don’t get me started on the fucking “engineer” that installed leaving absolutely no slack whatsoever on the cables so you have to plug in the coax cables, HDMI cable (the socket is upside down, btw) and power cable by feel. Fucking gimps. I’d love the opportunity to punch Murdoch in the face fo...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.

I see an R8 on my horizon. A sort-of supercar with semi-reasonable running costs. Wouldn't be a daily but very useable all the same. Priced well too. Just to make Rich a bit more angry, I've read that R8's can be pretty expensive to run....putting CSL specific parts out of the equation, I'd expect ...

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.

I get the feeling a missing 10% of quoted horsepower would be the least of your worries with an F355...

ETA: anyway - how are your rod bearings, just out of interest you know ;)

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.

F355 was on the list but Ian referred to shonky build quality so that put a bit of a dampener on that for me.

:D You mean someone from the forum actually bought something posted in a for sale thread? Unbelievable

By wine I assume you mean for your wedding, rather than as an investment!

Re: The idle dreaming “what next” thread.

Nothing is on the cards until December 2019 at the earliest when I can remortgage and hopefully free up some cash. Then I guess my wish list would be a 928 S2 (as I've droned on about at length), then an L322 or potentially an L405 (depreciation dependent) V8 petrol Rangey. On the more pie in the sk...

Re: The Watches Thread

You are assuming that they didn't ask. They may well have asked their dealer network to tell customers that they'd do this for free as a nice gesture and everyone simply said "yes, please upgrade my watch to look like the brand new better looking models". The article just said Rolex "...

Unfortunately for DeskJockey that didn't make it to lunch this also means I have to deny ever having met him. ;)
So any damage my kids did to the car will be untraceable!
They seemed to have fun - that’s what counts! I think we escaped with only some oddly aligned air vents :D

Re: Your fleet running reports

Remember where the heads are on a 911... The engine would have to be dropped I expect, hence $$$ in labour. @Rev I’ll most likely get whoever it is to stick a camera down when I get the coil packs done rather than buy a DIY scope and faff taking the air box off on the street outside my house... scop...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I too wonder if it needs to be decoked. Charlie did say it’s normal for M96/7 to be ‘under’, but DFI engines should be a lot better, and GT3s to be ‘over’, particularly RS. It’s horrible from cold and pogoes for 30 seconds when gently accelerating in first so I’m convinced it needs coil packs. I’ve...

Re: Your fleet running reports

JonMad kindly organised a forum trip to Farnborough Costco at the weekend - so I met up with him, GG & Duncs. With a bit of time to kill before lunch we went to Surrey Rolling Road and did some quick power runs. The Aston performed perfectly, producing a touch over the factory spec of 380hp. I ...

Have seen an AMG GT (coupe not roadster) floating around East Dulwich on several occasions recently so he must live nearby. Sounds dirty even just pootling about.

Re: Surrey* Rolling Road - Sat 28th April - from about 10am

That's an unusual colour. Nice. Someone on Pistonheads was recently lamenting the lack of green Astons what with it being the classic British colour. Did Nutty come over to the new forum ? IIRC his was one of the less common colours; black or grey is the resale-friendly choice. Even silver like min...

Does yours do the "Scrotum. Penis. Testicles" greeting thing, has it made you self-harm and is there a way to disengage it? At least (IIRC) the 4.3s have a proper (Volvo ;) ) key and not the stupid emotional control unit that you have to keep in a leather pouch and can't be attached...
