There’s one person responsible for me leaving the forum…

…and that’s me. This place brought out the worst in me. I’m opinionated and argumentative and I found good company here with those traits. But, this being a forum where I “knew” people without really knowing them made it easy to make things personal or take things personally. In short, it brought ou...

Re: Single versus two car argument

accidentally blocked LOLs. I know, right ? I rarely post on Facebook, blocking me there because of something I wrote on here seems a bit.... retarded. It's another example of his pent-up impotent rage, just like last time when he made a string of demands of me with absolutely no way of enforcing th...

Re: Coronavirus

Our clean slate stopped today. 24 days with 0 cases, now 2 from the UK allowed in to visit a family member who was dying. Contract tracing regime about to be tested to see if the country can still keep the virus out. Throw the doors open in the UK ;) Makes you wonder how they’ve picked it up in the...

Re: Single versus two car argument

Don’t have a shit car and a good car. It’s not worth it. You end up either not taking the opportunities to use the good car, or always wishing you were in the good one when you’re in the shit one. If you’re going to have multiple cars, make sure they’re all ones you want and will enjoy owning, or at...

Re: Project Redneck

Well, it wasn’t the gasket. It looks as though it’s the pump seal that’s gone, which is a gearbox out job.

Are there no pattern parts that could be got from UK/EU?

I mean, I guess you looked rather than phoning up a Chevy dealer in Utah, etc.
There’s a couple of suppliers in the U.K. but they had no stock and were double the price.

Re: Coronavirus

without a deal we'll stop the EU economy recovering so it'll be down to them to give us a favourable deal by December. Won’t happen though - the EU has no issue cutting its own nose off to spite its face on a point of Principle But most importantly, they won’t give a shit because we’re nowhere near...

Re: Coronavirus

We’re getting more support and contact from the high school than from the primary. The primary school work is just busy work with no real value, whereas the high school is providing 3 to 4 hours a day to keep up with the syllabus.

Re: Coronavirus

No surprise, but the economy is in tatters on the basis of the figures released this morning. Going to be a long road to recovery. :( Very fecking long if they don't get kids back in school anytime soon. I genuinely don't think they understand the consequences of the schools situation. Is that beca...

Re: Idiotic tenants

When we moved to Amsterdam and were looking for tenants for our U.K. home, we had one woman demand that we have an electrician test “the wires that are sticking out of the wall”. Those were the SCART leads for the wall mounted TV in the kitchen.
