Re: Where would you live?

It would be great to have a house in an area of beautiful unspoiled countryside. The risk of course, is that some selfish cnut builds a house there and ruins the beautiful unspoiled countryside near your house.

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

Hmmm it’s not utterly awful but the seats do look a bit tired ? Maybe worth a look as it’s local but I’d personally hold out for black interior.

Ian spends a large part of his life sitting in a sealed metal tube with a couple of hundred strangers, I think he's got the COVID side covered ;)

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

Come on, share the link !

The only thing that would put off a very early car is that the dash illumination was green and that was quite quickly superseded by white which looks much much better IMO. Slight change to the seat design too but that's not a big deal.

Spotted yesterday - “2 MEN” which I’ll admit did raise my eyebrow

edit - I’ve just googled and it doesn’t come back as a valid reg but I’m sure that’s what it was.

Didn’t you or your parents live in Hartley Wintney ? I’ve never looked at the house prices but the high street is very nice and judging by the cars you see parked there it’s exactly the kind of area you’re looking for.

Re: Your fleet running reports

Not even hypermiling, that was sitting with the other traffic @ 70-80mph. I’ve done the same trip plenty of times in the Bentley and even consciously keeping it under 70 it only just gets 20mpg. Twenty-point-something if you’re lucky. Sounds like splitting hairs over a couple of mpg but at this leve...

Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

Doug visits OV9, clearly I just forced myself to sit through that for the sake of the car but dear god his voice is annoying. Constantly up & down like a pubescent teenager. And he's doing it on purpose, it occasionally slips and he talks normally for a couple of sentences, which is a blessed r...

Although he's a bit obsessed about interior parts sharing.
The Volvo bits ? Does not bother me in the slightest. The instrument panel makes up for everything. Best I’ve ever had, by miles. Gorgeous.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I took the 360 to work today and used it as an opportunity to finally do a brim-to-brim check on the fuel consumption. It has no OBC so I’ve just been putting in £50 at a time and not paying any attention.

164 miles consumed 28.88 litres of Tesco super, which makes 25.8mpg. I’m quite impressed !

Re: Your fleet running reports

Anything you'd do differently if you were buying another 360? That's a really good question ! I didn't do it "right" by any of the normal advice you get about car buying. It was the first one I looked at, it wasn't really the colour I wanted, it was from a slightly shifty non-specialist b...
