Re: V8 Vantage hire experience

Doug visits OV9, clearly I just forced myself to sit through that for the sake of the car but dear god his voice is annoying. Constantly up & down like a pubescent teenager. And he's doing it on purpose, it occasionally slips and he talks normally for a couple of sentences, which is a blessed r...

I can’t find a photo that really does it justice. Looks much better IRL.

He's right.
Although he's a bit obsessed about interior parts sharing.
The Volvo bits ? Does not bother me in the slightest. The instrument panel makes up for everything. Best I’ve ever had, by miles. Gorgeous.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I took the 360 to work today and used it as an opportunity to finally do a brim-to-brim check on the fuel consumption. It has no OBC so I’ve just been putting in £50 at a time and not paying any attention.

164 miles consumed 28.88 litres of Tesco super, which makes 25.8mpg. I’m quite impressed !

...while the handling is more sports car. That bit really caught my attention here, especially knowing you have Boxster experience, as I've always thought the Aston feels quite big & heavy compared to my 996. I'm far more confident throwing the Porsche around. Not knocking the Aston though. For...

That's how long the first one has lasted!!
Oh. Nearly £1/mile just on the front gearbox. Fcuk that.

This chap is a Ferrari specialist and has an excellent blog on technical stuff for the 360/430:

Re: Your fleet running reports

Anything you'd do differently if you were buying another 360? That's a really good question ! I didn't do it "right" by any of the normal advice you get about car buying. It was the first one I looked at, it wasn't really the colour I wanted, it was from a slightly shifty non-specialist b...

I think you’ll find a 355 is more than a 360 !

The 360 is cheap, and usable. That’s my boxes ticked.

So presumably it's now just a small software update to get the full F&F experience ?

Re: Your fleet running reports

The only one I've used is www.ferrarichat.com but I don't actively hang out there, it's mostly American and (in the 360/430 forum at least) they obsess far too much with "gated manual" and whether <xyz> will affect resale value. There's some useful historical threads for tech stuff though....

LWB compared to the Civic maybe !

And reversing is easier - you use your mirrors and can see exactly how much space you have either side.

Re: Parking

It's just easier reversing in. And safer. Reversing out into the traffic flow you have very reduced visibility, the same reason the highway code tells you not to reverse out from a side road. 201 Do not reverse from a side road into a main road. When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if yo...

Re: Today’s want

Have you got an insurance quote? I think with the V8 diesel I’d be willing to run the reliability gauntlet. Not on this particular one, but when we had the thread about it I tried running a quote on something similar and Admiral - who have covered me very reasonably on the 360 & 996 - declined ...
