Re: Big bombs

If you want more Cold War era nuclear mental-ness, look up how they planned to use live chickens, and consider one of the early plans for a Panama Canal mk2 was to bury a string of nukes along the route and then set them off

Re: Your fleet running reports

My cars-to-buy-in-the-future list includes the later 7 Series, whatever code that is, because they could be optioned with laser headlights. ACTUAL LASERS.

Re: Mitsubishi UK/EU

I read that and came away with the impression we’ll still get the cars but they’ll all be branded as Renault.

It’d help improve Renault’s reliability record, putting the other two brands under the Renault banner.

Re: Wheel bearing/s

Good god the internet never ceases to amaze me. You don't change wheel bearings that don't need changing, even if you're pretending you're doing it yourself. On your pushbike maybe, but not on a fucking car. I wasn’t pretending, I have very definitely done E36 bearings myself ! Fronts pretty easy. ...

Re: Wheel bearing/s

I've always done both sides, just to satisfy my own need for symmetry, but that's with me doing the spannering. If I was paying someone else to do it I'd agree with Harry.

Re: Today’s want

They do seem a bit hit and miss... My Dad had a 540i and Gavster had a 523i, both were great * I had a 530i and it was riddled with issues, the most expensive being the torque converter not locking up properly. That was the point where I gave up. A real shame as it was a great car otherwise. The fi...

Bristols?
Slang for breasts !

Edit - having Googled, it's rhyming slang. Bristol City = Titty.

That makes me think - there's not many classic cars on the forum. What's the oldest car here ? The Bristol doesn't count as it's not mine.

Evostick's Landy ?

Re: Your fleet running reports

Back to the MINI, we have an example of the joys of running a common, worthless car - s/h parts are dirt cheap.

Replacement compressor from a MINI specialist breaker = £17.50. 8-)
